It could happen any moment...while
Strolling in the park...or while in the church,
In a movie house...or, when riding the bus,
Or in a cab on our way home,
It could be another long night, or early morning,
Like right now......at 2:30 AM,
While lying in bed...when body and mind are both at ease,
Muscles are rested...no struggles,
When heart is stripped of its trappings and
Trimmings of false pretenses...all are put aside,
When mental reflexes and defenses are relaxed,
When mind is bare...purely reflective,
Bereft of pride that shields the true self,
Cruising along the avenues of our imagination,
Taking our time, as we meet faces,
We find ourselves in places,
Existing in a variety of scenarios,
When, suddenly,
Like a comet in the night sky,
A swift spark of an idea catches our breath...

We sit, in a hurry......before it gets blown by the wind...

The mind is now done relaxing,
When the muscles stiffen normally
When we are no longer slouching
When we see coffee on the table
Steaming hot on the ***...

Under the dark sky,
Our day has started...

It is  time,
To turn those sparks into fireworks,
To create, and touch the lives of readers
Through another day of discovery,
Guide them by sharing our own recovery,
From stumbling down, over and over,
How it is to rise from a fall...
We enlighten them with our
R E V E L A T I O N S
Of self-discovered truths,
And our very own words of wisdom...

When body and mind are up and about,
Alert........ cognizant of
Every sound, and every burst of idea,
Then we know.......what time it is,

It...is...time
To
Write.

She was light and chaos
I was ice and dust.
The closer I got to her the brighter I shone,
But I was losing pieces of myself.
I was trapped in this cycle.
I would drift near her we’d have our fun,
But while she brings life
to others she only brought me destruction
Then it was back to the darkness cool embrace.

I swore that that time would be the last time,
But then she would pull me in like clockwork.
It always cost me more than it did her
When will I break free of her gravity?
I need to escape before I burn out.

I turn into comets fire
you bend avoiding glare.
I imagine craters on moon
you are aglow in beauty fair.

I seek out falling stars
through blankets weave.
You thrive in colours seen
while black holes I conceive.

I observe planet rings
dangers in rock or stone
you are penning silver ink
as fairies dance past known.

As I go orbiting to left
and you aquaplane right
we meet as one in eclipse
in moments of pure delight.

far past the settling night
once to be confused,
casting waning yellow lampshade
on the turning pages
of lovers gone astray,

far into hours of another day
streaming sunshine shifting
through clouds,
a simple touch and a phone call
which never comes,

the darkness unsettling
early morning hours
of frightening a.m's
streaks of tears glimmering,
leaving beautiful dew drops
on the lashes
where another somebody
can gently kiss
for you

one night to speak of truth
dinner for nobody but you
smooth liquor and fluttering crickets
stars glimmering, constellations crossing
like crosshairs, catching the comets
of burning love meant to fall
and burn in marvelous casts
of another wish

The heavens were my ink,
and the stars were my thoughts.
The comets were my pen scribbling
on the universe, leaving traces
of what was created still seen long
after their journey had carried on.

I am just like a comet
Flying, soaring, crashing down
Not caring about my direction
The burning fire in the back is my crown
I'm a distraction
Some say disaster
I say faster
I say free
I say
I am a comet
And if you're lucky you'll be one of the stars in my path
Before I crash, burn, die.

halley's comet
comes back around,
but you are not
ethereal enough
to do so
forgivably.
You want to know what I love about you?
I love your beaming smile
And the way it makes
Your hazel eyes squint
And the way you kiss me like
I just got off a battleship

I love your soft cheeks
And pouty lips
I love your messy hair in my face
When your delicate head
Lays upon my chest

And the feeling of your soft skin
Pressed against mine
Your naive laughter
Bounces moonbeams through my chest
And makes your dark eyes shine

I love the way your body fits
So perfectly in my arms
Right next to mine
Like we were molded together
Long ago
Two lost pieces
That aligned in time
Like when Orion meets
Artemis in the winter sky

Far away from tear filled nights
Gasping last words
Into a phone speaker
As she says it didn't mean a thing
Like a pretty old box
Holding an abonded engagement ring

Last chance
Car crash and last breath
But every moment leading to the next
And you fall into my life like a comet

You ask what I love about you?
I'll tell you someday
To tell you now

Is like printing the words of Shakespeare
On soft cover page
When you fall too fast
Elioinai Oct 2015
I dusted off some dreams
and shot them in the sky
I was short on shooting stars
and starved for higher light
My box of fire seems empty now
my ride is low on fuel
But I will tread on comet trails
and drink the milk of moons
