I’m stuck in the cage
Of an insecure spouse,
Waiting for him to unlock
It to set me free.
His superior mind keeps
Me from the escape.

As he’s celebrating the display
In his delicate cage,
Here I am while the light
Shines on me.

With no way out, I see
Everyone with joyous smiles,
Dancing their dances.
As I try to escape to freedom,
The arrows of his harsh words

Suited in a white gown,
Surrounded by love from

A smile over my tears,
While going through fears.
Entering into a locked cage,
Boiling in a fit of rage.

Embraced by a suit,
Wrapped in strong arms,
Awaiting the cruel harms.
Kissed by soft lips,
Locked hand in hand,
Feet in glass heels,
Barely able to stand.


A lifetime of sacrifice
And ongoing love.
Revealing what we’re
Made out of.
In a house of riches
Lies the marry dress.
Placed on a stand
Freed from mess.

Father, make me all yours.
You have the key that opens
All my heart’s doors.
Your loving words cut
But then I’m made whole,
Loving strokes consenting
My soul.

Father, I want your kiss
On my cheek,
All day it’s your smiles
I seek.
Holding your hand tight
With care,
Alone with you here and there..

To serve a man’s will,
To give into his control,
To not be still,
To master her role.

She proves her love.
She gives up her dreams.
Harmless as a dove,
Holding flooding streams.

The one who continues
The man’s name.
Generations in her womb,

Sacrifices her life,

Labeled as a wife,
