Cleaning, scrubbing, putting things away
Have to get things clean before end of day
Flushing and washing and folding things up
Have to get food ready before time for sup
Washing the walls and folding the clothes
Have to finish before I start to doze
Hanging and watering and putting things right
Keeping to a schedule and holding it tight
Before you know it, the time will come
The trumpets will blast, and the drum will just drum
And I have to be finished, I’m all in a tisit
Because my mother is coming and staying for a visit

Children have magical thinking
They think they can create
Anything can happen
If they just take the time to wait
For adults it is different
Life has thrown them quite a few
So things that have happened
They have to take time to chew
In workplaces people
Think that they are more
They forget about others
And become quite the bore
Power is something
That goes to the head
It makes people think
That they are in charge instead
They forget that we all are
Brothers and sisters of sorts
They forget to work together
And instead they exhort
Putting power over others
Is only a sign
Of people out of balance
They should quickly resign
And look at their actions
And what they do mean
They should wipe out their past
Become pristine and clean
For its only when we take
The time to reflect
That we realize that life
Should really be checked
When we understand that power
Is for making things better
We will start to make changes
And become a trend setter
Power is a gift
That helps us navigate this world
It helps us to prepare
For the afterworld
So pick up your britches
And head the call
The onus is on you
Use your power and stand tall

Isn’t it amazing how much attention we give to body
We dress and clean and groom it and explode when we look shoddy
We think that our appearance is how other's tend to judge us
Can we take some time here to justify and talk, so let us now discuss this
Our body is just a part of us, a part and not a whole
Take time to look a little deeper then you’ll find a better goal
For our bodies are just a fraction of what we should be looking for
If we look a little deeper then for sure we will then score
We are more than just our bodies, our minds and feelings, oh
We are so much more than what we know, let’s take this all in tow
We have a body to take us places where we’ve never been before
We have a mind to guide that trip and feelings can be a chore
So body, mind and feelings are just a part of who we be
And what is it that steers the ship? Let’s look and we will see
We have a body, mind, and emotions and we are so much more
We need to find our true, real self, we need to find our core
The Self that guides who we are now and who we’re meant to be
Is something more than our tri self, take time to look and see
Our self is a flow of mind-stream and ****** conditions
Our self is taken care of by our family physicians
Our Transpersonal Self is able to stand in itself
Received, absorbed and utilized by the self
When we look beyond body, mind and emotions
We find that we’re much more
Than who we thought we might find
Our true Self at the core
Our driving force is Self which is a truly focal point
An enduring reality, stable center with a very simple viewpoint
The Self is what is left when we take away the parts
The Self can stand alone, it’s the power from where life starts
The self is not a working force, in a sense it just can be
For the Self is not the electric cord, it’s the power which we can’t see
The self and Self in unison can be a beautiful dance
It comes from knowing who we are, it’s experience not happenchance
So if we take just minute to know we’re more than just our body
We’ll find that we are so much more, a soul that we embody
Materialism is believing that our body is all we are
Yet when we look much deeper we’ll find our soul is the true star

I used to like
To sit and read
And eat great things
For ice cream I’d plead
And now I have
Only smoothies that are green
Veggies that are raw
And water that is clean
As I get older
My menu grows small
I want to live longer
Until I can no longer crawl
My hair is now grey
And my teeth they come out
With my low hanging body
My age I don’t doubt
When I was much younger
I never gave thought
To keeping myself healthy
And exercising a lot
And now that my walking
Has taken its toll
On chairs I can sit
On the floor I can roll
Getting up might be harder
Yoga’s not what it was
The bending and twisting
My head’s in a buzz
So aging ain’t what
I thought it might be
I think I’ll slow down
That might be the key

Hope
The eternal flame
Of what we wish
We had
Holding onto
That which we want
While letting go
Of that
Which we have
Hope lights the internal flame
Of longing
Keeping us alive
In the solitude
Of
Tomorrow

How can I be what I can not see
How can I hear what is not said
How can I behave in a world of hatred
And continue to love that which is
What will guide me through this life
And bring me to a completion of existence
Guide me home
Open my eyes
Allow my heart to love
To accept
With Gratitude

Body fears death
And we speak
In the silence
And I remind it
That it has held
The secrets of life
For millennium
And I honour
All
That it is
So fear not, for death comes
To us all
And we learn to cope
And move forward
Body, my body
You are one
One body, one life
And then we perish
While
The soul and mind
Live on
You are perfect, just the way
You are
And death
For most
Means life
And for you
Annihilation

The geese have returned
To their Northern home
And I am awakened
To their fanciful flight
And the resonance
Of their welcome

Meditation is a place where we should go
When times are tough when times are slow
Go inside and meditate
Silently sit and silently wait
Soon you will see the light inside
Soon you’ll go on a magical ride
Find a teacher who knows the way
Stay with him both night and day
The world outside is cold and damp
Check out your actions and then revamp
Begin to see other as your self
Begin to know your authentic wealth
Be kind to other in humility give
It’s the only way to actively live
Change things around and go inside
Know who you are, in love abide

Mask and vaccine what’s the take
Looks like the world now needs a break
Everything was closed down tight
We called out government with all our might
It’s hard to understand what this is about
We scream and yell and some of us pout
We hold marches and drive to the capital city
The Americans joined in, now that’s a pity
We just want our freedom, ability to choose
If we’re all corralled in then all of us loose
Vaccine and mask should be a choice
And yet we punish those who have a voice
I’m getting older and wiser than most
That is the reason for this post
The more rules the harder it is to be real
It’s not appropriate to make us heel
So rule makers listen we want you to hear
The end of the world could possibly be near
The rule that we need, the most important of all
Is to be gentle with others and heed the call
Of a higher power, the creator of all
If we could only listen we wouldn’t feel small
Be kind to others; treat all as your own
Step gently on the earth and set the tone
Set the inner boundaries that make you true
To yourself be authentic and be your best you

What a conundrum
To be in
So early

If today was the day I was going to die
I would want to throw a pie up to the sky
And catch it and then throw again
To have some fun and make a plan
For death comes when we least expect it
Could be when lying down or having a sit
Or even running a lap or two
Or cutting carrots and making a stew
We never know when it’s our time
To write some words or make a rhyme
And which will be our very last
Will we speak of the future or the soon to be past
Our time on Earth is very short
We can speak plainly or end in retort
Not knowing when the time is nigh
We can go out loud or with a sigh
So if I could choose to be sane or insane
I would start all over and do it again

The words come forward
Like a never ending stream
Of flowing
Water jewels
That take on the hue
Of sparkling gems
That want to find a home
In the pupils
Of my mind

I see with new eyes
And hear with new ears
All
That is about me
And in me
In an expression
Of outer
And inner growth
And knowing
And
Wisdom
And I
Am but a puppet

Have you ever felt
Like deep down inside of your self
There is a gnawing feeling
Of discontent
Like there was something you were supposed to do
And you don’t know what that is
Like something has been forgotten
And you are on
The road to nowhere
There is a gut feeling
That leads us
To freedom
Of the soul
It takes us to places
We didn’t even know existed
That feeling, deep in our soul
That gets us from point A to point B
In the shortest possible time
If
We could only understand
What it is
Trying to say

I didn’t even know
That God existed
Until I found love
It was in that love
That the beautiful hand of God
Revealed itself
And showed me
How to live
An authentic life
It reminded me to live truthfully
And, in living my truth
I would find the freedom
To just be
And so, in finding God
I found
My Self

I never know
Which way
My words
Are going to carry me
Will they speak of the present
Or of the past
Or of the
In-betweens
Of life

I walked past the park
And saw the children at play
And tried to remember
What my mother used to say
And I thought of the times
I held my babes in my arms
And I tried to remember
And it set off alarms
For our children are precious
A gift from above
And they need to be raised
With kind, compassionate love
How can our young beings
Take over this world
If all they’ve been taught
Is a hidden dreamworld
The truth we should teach them
What made us be strong
We need to teach them
The right from the wrong
To respect other people
And see them as same
For if wars do continue
It will be the end of this game
So teach your children courage
And strength and true love
And live the lessons well
And hate, please get rid of
Show them that hiding
Won’t bare well for their future
Shine bright in your real self
And don’t be a moocher
Leave the world in a better state
Then how you found it
Make your enemies your friends
Authentic self not hypocrite
For people see through
When you’re not being your self
People know when you’re lying
Shine through, personality wealth
And share all your gifts
With the children you know
And show them the way
Teach them how so they grow
Into the future of this world
Which is changing so fast
Let’s make the future different
Than our soiled, tumulted past

I have a choice
As I face life’s challenges
Whether to hide
Or whether to live
The former may feel better in the moment
The latter means challenges
Am I up to that?
I gather my strength and my courage
And
I dive into life

How can I reach you
When your mind is closed
And
You are reacting
From past events
I can’t change
Your past
We can only
Create
A future
Together

At a crossroad in life
Not knowing which path to take
Do I wander on alone
Or take a chance on love
What is it that holds us back
From our destiny
Or causes us to rush forward
Into the arms of another
With a need for acceptance and love
Should we be more prudent
Or more adventurous
And can’t either one

Love

Daily
Mean nothing

Of love
Love permeates
Every particle

We are love
We breathe

We exist

Growing into love

Raw pain
The kind that brings
Tears to our eyes
And permeates
Our very
Existence
Is important
To
Our growth
When we allow ourselves
To feel pain
To acknowledge
Pain
To go through
The pain
We allow ourselves
To feel

Humanity
Life does not exist
Without pain
In fact
It is the very pain
That we run from
That helps us to grow

Bombs exploding all around
War is hell and hate abounds
We live in a world when we don’t know
When it will be our time to go
We look around and fear comes in
We wonder what we did to sin
And forget to take an active role
We need to remember our real goal
To know our self, know who we are
Look deep inside not from afar
We think we belong we take a stance
We involve ourselves in a frantic dance
And think we know what comes up next
And forget to aim for our apex
Go inside and find your name to fame
Stop playing their ridiculous human game
We must remember to quietly sit
To be in the world and not be of it

It’s been awhile
Since I’ve been able
To write words
Thoughts pour forward
In images
And the words follow
Slowly behind
Wanting to share
I put fingers to keyboard
And volley forward
Into times gone by
And future endeavors

Let’s go out now and buy
A steak a pizza a hamburger
Appetites reach for the sky
We think we’re hungry
We like to taste
The food is wonderful
Can’t let it waste
And so we hunger
And so we hide
We get much bigger
We’re growing wide
And still we want
Just more and more
We fill our pantries
And run to the store
We never fill
That empty void
We keep on eating
And get annoyed
Our doctors tell us
It must stop
We tell him not
To be a cop
We hang on to
Our sugary treats
Nothing can get past
What we eat
And suddenly one day
We start to feel
A little anxious
And start to reel
And realize that
The food we eat
Is making us sick
It’s not a treat
But poison yummies
Which we detect
Our bodies soon
Feel the effect
And suddenly
We understand
These very wise words
Which we command
We eat to live
Not live to eat
Once we get that
Our health complete

While all around me
Bombs of hate are exploding
And prejudice
Is falling from the sky
In buckets of tearful wounds
And I watch
Waiting for an opportunity
To express
Innocence and love
We can no longer hide
In our unwillingness to know
We must reach out
And express our oneness
And love for other
As well as for ourselves
Without love
There is no world
Without compassion
There is no peace
Without self
There is no hope
I am

I am the only one
That can create

Winter
A time of contemplation
And rest
Under the deep, soft snow
Of life
That keeps us from
The Spring
Of our
Awakening

My heart is set on ice cream
But it’s spinach I will eat
For while I know I shouldn’t
Chocolate definitely would be my treat
I’m trying here with all my might
To eat foods that bring me up
It’s the ones with higher calories
On which I prefer to sup
My perseverance is waning
And patience is running low
The chocolate bar is calling
It’s the kale that brings a glow
I know I should be healthy
And eating foods that are right
But my choice right now is limited
So I eat whatever is in sight
I empty all my cupboards
I clean my frig as well
I want a svelter figure
And French fries make me swell
What will it take to keep me on
A regime that is right
My clothes no longer fit me
And my jacket sure is tight
So help me, support me, make me see
That healthy is where it’s at
To set my mind to knowing more
And stop all that back chat
I want to long for vegetables
I want to crave no more
I want to know that eating
Should be more than just a chore
I want to learn to listen
To what my body says to me
I want to exercise with joy
A thinner body to enjoy with glee
I want to let go of all those habits
That keep me from my goal
I want to eat and exercise
And feed my inner soul

I know I have a right
To be alive
I cry to the Universe
I have a right
A God given right
To be alive
I’ve earned that right
By
Staying alive
Through all the abuse
And
Unwantedness
And now
I have to
Scream to the Universe
To allow me
To live

Running running
So hard to keep  up
With life
Ever going
Always doing
This way and that
Filling in gaps
Busy schedule
Have to go
Have to do
Have to
STOP
And smell
The roses
