Of all the things you mean to me,
I don't feel like we're best friends anymore.
There are too many unspoken truths between you and me;
Too many mixed up lies.

Now I want to tell you everything
I've been hiding for so long.
You've been here since the beginning.
Please don't forget me in the end.

I hate how I am always the first to call
or we don't speak at all.
I'm a nuisance to you,
a nuisance to myself.
I was born to come in second place.

I hate how I always say too much
and then try to blame you when you digress with the words I put in your mouth.
You aren't even a friend to me,
but I'm lonely
and you oblige to talk.

I hate how I want to hang up when you finally fall silent on the other end
because I've wasted my whole day wishing that we could actually converse,
but I don't until I absolutely have to.
We go our own ways, both with an unheard murmur of disdain.

It seems we've switched places, as the years slow down.
Went from regretting ever saying hello
to refusing to drift apart.
It's already happened with everyone else, but I've learned to reject change.

I hate how lonely I am
and how unconcerned you are.
We both know we're stuck in this routine,
but neither of us care enough to turn around.
About a ex-friend I can't be bothered to break connections with.

Beware of them
As a lover or a friend
As a family or a foe
As a passerby or a neighbor

Because they hide as they stand on the stage
They put you on a mind-boggling maze
They set you on an endless chase
With no one else but with your own tail

Because they shout in silence
They scream using pen
Using only pseudonyms
They want you to both understand and not understand what they mean

Because they conceal as they express
Behind figure of speeches
They'll have you take a guess
When you do, you're already checkmate in chess

Beware of them
Because they are contrasting beings
Living in a world of what-ifs
Living between reality and dreams

Dreams for family, rage for a foe
Feelings for lovers, concern for a friend
Observation in a passerby, rumors from a neighbor
They turn it into words, rhyming at the end

Because they are but they are not
Because they do but they don't
Because they are cowards but they have guts
Because they will but they won't

Because they are two-faced people
Because they are at different places at the same time
Because they push and they pull
Because they have truths and they have lies

Oh beware of them
Because they're simply complicated
Because they're famous yet anonymous
Because they'll always have you choose

I.
cold knees.
my thoughts got tangled on your fingertips.
i've been tucking you in the dark creases of my mind.
II.
i'm stuck gazing upon you,
or at least what is left of you. at least.
III.
every sigh you breathe out joins the cold air.
IV.
your eyes holds an ocean of regrets.
your war cry is music to me.
V.
my love for your is a logical fallacy.
and I
put the "art" in breaking hearts.
knotting heartstrings into pretty bows:
bows for the locks of my hair
but possibly also for arrows.
VI.
be the cure that is contagious.
i think my sickness
is just over-diagnosing myself.
when your mind comes up with random poetic lines but you don't really know which poem to include them in.
