I love you
And I could never leave you
Yet I'm so distraught
This pain,
Oh this pain
I'm so distressed
But you can't change the past

But I just can't heal.

Winter
by Michael R. Burch

The rose of love’s bright promise
lies tattered by the thorn;
her scent was sweet
but at her feet
the pallid aphids mourn.

The lilac of devotion
has felt the winter ****
and shed her dress;
companionless,
she shivers, **** and sore.

Published by Songs of Innocence, The Aurorean and Contemporary Rhyme. Keywords/Tags: love, rose, bright, promise, potential, tattered, torn, thorn, winter, naked, ****, shivering, sore, scent, fragrance, aroma, sweet, pallid, aphids, lilac, devotion, ****, hoarfrost, frost, ice

Torn between choices
Move forward or go back home
Which one up to you
We all face that choice every day, there is no such thing as standing still, even if that change is a tiny minute one it is still pushing you one direction or the other.

But it’s always us in the end , holding the hearts we gave away, us the ones who love hard, the ones who look outside of self, who feel for people And things outside of themselves. Us, those who will end up hurt and torn in the end by the people they only wanted to love and be loved by.
We still love even after heartbreaks.

there’s a lot of things
drifting in my mind,
and the right words to justify them
I can’t seem to find.

there's a lot of questions
with answers I have yet to seek,
I see choices around
but troubled to pick.

then there's this heart and mind
which quarrels every time,
now lost in thoughts
I'm torn in which to side.

Please carry it gently
its been crushed, torn
and fixed
Yet again,
this is one of the
many times I trust
You might drop it too
and somebody else would
mend it their way
But none will be able to
piece it in the pattern
like it was when
first broken

I must be easily mistaken
For a coat on a plastic hanger
Because nothing has been more familiar
Than the way I’ve been used,
Selected finickly from the men’s section
And worn until I’m ruined.

They expect me to fulfill their needs
And take on all their elements
And if I get a little *****
I’m just thrown in the wash
So I can be used again.

she’d like to ignore
everything that she feels,
to realize her worth
and what she deserves,
but what can someone do
if the heart tells otherwise?
Which will you follow? Your heart or your mind?

You confessed you're feelings to me in a sweet little melody,
I liked you too.
But you know what I found out?
You're a back stabbing fake.
You had a girlfriend and you never told her how you felt.
Go on, take the knife and stab me,
You've already broken my heart.
