Your core,
this folding door,
guarded by the sentry
of your knees,
the iron vice
of your thighs,
allow me, please,
this much:
one kiss,
one stroke,
one persuasion,
that you might
this night, my darling,
find it in your heart to
open to me.
Two Way Mirror Dec 2019
You can clearly see out
you can speak, even raise your voice
you think you're being clear, emphatic,
maybe even a bit loud
but actually,
no one hears or sees you
No-ones’ even noticed
you're on the other side of the glass
Two Way Mirror Dec 2019
The curtain,
the veil, the barrier, the obstruction
whatever you want to call it
that distance between you and the rest of the world
the no-mans land between borders
the space in time between receipt of input
and your output
where all the frantic calculations are made
where all the possibilities and ramifications are considered
before blurting out something misjudged
more thought doesn't always lead to a better outcome
you can overdo it
I saw you over there,
Across the street.
A beautiful angel,
With a smile,
Even more pretty.

I glance your way,
I can't help it.
I trip,
I almost fall,
But its totally worth it.

You saw me looking,
Catching my gaze,
Holding it.

My heart races,
My body starts to sweat.
I look away,
Panicking.

I take a moment,
To act like I wasn't looking.
Eyes darting around,
Pretending;
Like I was looking for something.

I gather up the courage,
To look at you once again.

I turn my head to you.
And all I see,
Is an angel,
Smiling back at me.
Stephen Moore Jul 2019
Nursing cracked paper backs and dusty reference works,
Softly uttered beauty,
Topped by brown bun glows in alabaster skin,
Bespectacled,
She whispers,
Quiet please.

Words slip through fingers,
Stretched,
In constrained eroticism,
A country woman in tweed.

Her passing stamp,
Over a pristine white sheet,
beckoning,
“return”.

Reading her unspoken words,
A chapter opens,
I succumb to her prose,
Love,
I suppose.
A restrained sensuality is somehow more intoxicating than something more brash. Someone who’s life is order and system, I imagine, contains the makings of collapse into blissful release.

Blood
Running in the veins of every one of us
Without it, we perish.
But bleeding is bad
Never let someone know you have blood in you
Lest they faint
Remember, kid
You bleed because inside you is blood
But nobody’s looking for what’s on the inside
Organs are beautiful why do we fear them? You’re human, we all bleed. We’ve all fallen and scraped our knees. So why can so many of us not stand to look at the damage? “That’s supposed to stay on the inside, darling”

I really want to talk to you
And get to know all about you
It doesn't matter what we do
Cause i just want to be with you

Take you out on a date
And stay out really late
For the chance i cannot wait
For i know it would be great
Does not matter where we go
Be it high or be it low
Be it sun or rain or snow
There's just one thing you need to know

I really want to talk to you
And get to know all about you
It doesn't matter what we do
Cause i just want to be with
Yes i just want to talk to you
And get to know all about you
It doesn't matter what we do
Just so long as I'm with you

Let me sing you something sweet
Le me write you poetry
I would be oh so happy
Just as long as you're with me
Won't you please give me a chance
Maybe go and visit France
Or even take you out to dance
Your beauty has me in a trance

I really want to talk to you
And get to know all about you
It doesn't matter what we do
Cause i just want to be with
Yes i just want to talk to you
And get to know all about you
It doesn't matter what we do
Just so long as I'm with you

Yes i just want to talk to you
And get to know all about you
It doesn't matter what we do
Just so long as I'm with you
My newest song but I don't have music for it
Write a story, she said.
You have a way with words
Write about us.

The day we met.
Under the sunset.
On the water's shores.
Overlooking the ocean.

The day I saw you over there.
We caught each other looking.
Our eyes met.
I shied away.
Giggling, as I turned my head

I looked again,
And you were almost there.
Walking up to me,
With a smile on your face.

Before any words were said,
I was already, enchanted.
Crown Shyness Jul 2019
The trees are very nice to me
They block the sun and give me leaves
They let me climb on their limbs
So I can be free

The trees are pretty shy like me
They don’t like others among other things
They shy away from others like them
Sometimes they get along in the end

The trees have nice crowns like me
Mine is a mess but theirs is so pretty
I tell them all the time
They don’t like to share designs

They shy away from each other
And keep their own crowns
Crown shyness, I say
As I feel the same
Crown shyness is a natural phenomenon in which the crowns of fully leaved trees do not touch each other, leaving channels in the canopy.
