YOU'RE NOT REAL, I'M NOT REAL - WHO HAS
THE MOST APPEAL? ANNE SAYS: 'LOOK AT
THAT, SEE WHAT THEY DO,' BUT THEY'RE
ACTING IT OUT ALTHOUGH SUDDENLY THAT'S
THE WAY IT REALLY IS, AFTER ALL YOU'RE
IN THE SCREEN, NOT SEPARATED, ONLY MEAN;
I'M WATCHING MY LOVER WHO STEPPED OUT
OF THE BOX, HE'S HANDSOME, WELL BUILT
AND STACKED WITH MONEY UP TO THE HILT,
I'M NOT DISAPPOINTED, WE HAVE A GREAT TIME,
IS IT POSSIBLE THAT HE COULD REALLY BE MINE,
NO ONE WILL EVER LEAVE ANYONE, PROMISES
FOR TODAY BUT THEN I REALIZE IT'S ONLY A PLAY.

The screen in my window is partially torn
one half is fully attatched while the other..
is caught in the wind that is slowly pulling
it along, waiting for it to let go and flow as
gracefully as the newly falling snow

But I am the other half, holding on for my
life because I'm afraid of heights that the
wind will lift me up to..

The glass that I am protecting is already
broken, so why shouldn't I let go?

                      Don't.

This is very different, from what I usually write. At least what I have currently been writing. I hope someone liked it.

as i sit
unperturbed it seems
i feel the familiar itch
of the nicotine screen
at the back of my head
in the conscious unseen
i feel the familiar itch
of the nicotine screen
my eyes adrift
in the circuital seas
i crave a quick drag
of the nicotine screen
scratch the itch
wipe the conscience clean
but i'll soon lust again
for the nicotine screen
******* is a vice. Technology may follow suit; one, as the medium, and two, a vice all on its own.

Who
“Bless her Heart,” he says,
to a product of display
but to her dismay:

Silhouette behind
numbers and comments – many
of which carry her.

“Who,” – should cherish her,
could take care of her
would love her: profile.

He saw her display,
with another hundred men,
behind glass windows.

Seeing an outline,
shape with no response throughout,
still, completely still.

“Hello,” she said
tight-lipped as a hushed shadow
in the faint doorway.

The person behind the screen
Whats does your voice sound like?
You're just a picture to me
What goes through your head?
What makes your heart beat?
You're just a picture to me
What inspires you?
What gets you going?
What makes you tick?
What do you find frustrating?
Flustering?
You're just a picture to me
To the person behind the screen
I'm curious

She lives in her room
In front of a screen
Always talking to you
She screams talk to me

You hate leaving her alone
But people call for you to
answer the phone
If only you could be beside her

Always, you want to stay near
Because you're well aware that
behind the screen she fears
you'll be taken away

Further than distance can convey
Little does she know you live the same way.

They're sorry to announce she's dead
peacefully passed over in bed
with family and dearest friends
a blessing for her in the end

They always use such clichéd weasel words
to avoid offence or create pretence
kindly perpetuate lying-in-state
wash the slate and cleanse cool reference

Seems strange I don't see her going gently
I saw her manically playing the Shrew
she cast two gentle husbands aside
ever the screaming cheating bride
but on stage and screen ever the radiant queen

We're told to celebrate A-list lives
but I contemplate my own losses
those parts of my life that passed away
watching old films is my afterlife.

Put down your **** phone when I’m talking and look me in the eye,
I know you think it’s hard, but you had better try.

All day long you sit with your face buried in that screen,
You do know there’s a whole world around you to be seen?
That world has actual people, and real things happening,
You’re missing out on all the joy that this world can bring.

Your Facebook, Twitter, and Instagram, all of it can wait;
Social Media cast you a real long line and you took all their bait.
It’s exactly what they want from you, your complete reliance;
So throw them all a curve ball and show them some defiance!

Without them your life’s amazing! Just take a look around!
You’re on this beautiful planet standing here right on the ground!
There’s mountains, parks, and monuments to see, just look at a map;
And to see these you don’t need to download any app!

Instead of living in a chatroom behind your bedroom door,
Take a walk with a close friend; the satisfaction will be more.
You’ve been inundated with all of this technology for too long,
We’re losing connection with nature and it’s starting to feel wrong.

We should use the world’s beauty to give ourselves a rush,
Not spend 500 hours trying to conquer Candy Crush.
And is it so important to video record everything you see?
Just live in and enjoy the moment and trust me, you’ll feel free.

So look up I say! Look all the way up! And throw away the phone,
Learn to reconnect with humanity and don’t become a drone!

Have you ever played
Green screen door?

Anything with
Double letters
Can go through

Anything without doubles
Stays behind

Sadness can go through
But joy stays

Depression may pass
But love may not go

Anxiety-attacks can go
But calm must stay

I can pass through
But my sister cannot

I think I see why

The voice from the screen
a face that's never seen
advises you unknowingly
blurring the lines
one day at a time
until control is complete
