I am a resilient seed in the eye of the hurricane.
Once the storm calms, I will bloom and nothing can uproot me.
I don't care if every other plant is wiped out.
I don't care if I am the last one standing.
I refuse to care anymore.
You failed as my haven.
Ali Hassan May 15
A silent knight who rode through flames,
Fought the war he could not tame.
He knew the end before the start,
But duty burned within his heart.

He fought not for the songs or fame,
Nor dreamed of honor, nor sought a name.
He fought because the path was made
A road of fire he could not evade.

His back is bent, his breath is weak,
No strength to rise, no words to speak.
Still on his knees, he won’t let go
His sword still burns with steady glow

With trembling hands, he plants it deep,
A spine of steel his soul will keep.
Though body crushed, he stands upright,
A shattered man, but still a knight.

You see defeat when you stare,
Yet did you sense the fear there?
He’s lost the war—but he feels none.
For in his fall… the fight was won.

up and over hills
we go, we go
but on the drive in
those hills
those wonderful hills
the ones that catch my breath
and lock it in their grass roots
the impossible to climb
but on the drive in
so wonderful to see

I was bound in chains I could not see,
A prisoner to my own misery.
Whispers of doubt, a crushing weight,
The silent scream of a hopeless state.

I stood in shadows, cold and alone,
With nothing but silence to call my home.
My mind a battlefield, a ceaseless fight,
As day bled into dark, and dark into night.

The mirror showed me a ghost of despair,
A hollow stare with nothing to share.
No light within me, no fire to guide,
Just a wandering soul, nowhere to hide.

Pain was my blanket, fear my friend,
I asked if this was how it would end.
Would I be forever lost, unseen, unheard?
Would my heart stay numb, unfeeling, disturbed?

But even in the darkest of nights,
A flicker of hope would break through the fight.
A whisper, a question, a faint trace of will,
That begged me to rise, to fight, to feel.

"Why?" I asked, when surrender felt near,
"Why should I break, when life’s still here?"
A question so simple, but it tore me apart,
And from the ashes, a spark would start.

With trembling hands and a heart full of fear,
I clung to the light, though it seemed unclear.
Each day I crawled, one step at a time,
Climbing through chaos, through pain so prime.

The days grew longer, the nights more bright,
I learned to trust in the inner fight.
The pain was still there, but I held it tight,
A piece of my past, but not my light.

And now I stand, not unscathed, but free,
A warrior forged from the struggle to be.
I’ve learned that the flame never dies,
It flickers, it falters, but it still flies.

I know now that darkness can’t hold me forever,
That the questions are answers that guide us together.
From the depths of despair, I’ve come to believe,
That no matter the fall, I’ll always rise to achieve.

So I spread my wings, no longer bound,
In the light of my journey, I’ve finally found
That the power within, though tested and torn,
Is a fire that burns, and will never be mourned.
This poem captures my journey from the depths of depression to the eventual awakening and self-discovery that followed. The pain, fear, and struggle were all-consuming, but they served as stepping stones toward understanding my worth, strength, and the power of perseverance. This is a tribute to anyone who feels lost or trapped in their own darkness — there is hope, and with time, we can climb out and find the light again.

From ashes, I rise, no crown, no name,
Forged in fire, untamed by shame.
Each fall, a step, each scar, a light,
In darkness, I carve my endless fight.

I seek no praise, no fleeting fame,
I burn within, I am my flame.
Not for the weak, nor for the crowd—
I rise alone, unbroken, proud.

The world may tremble, the storm may roar,
But I will stand, forever more.
For strength is born from deepest pain,
And through the loss, I’ll rise again.
I noticed that the original Golden, I Rise didn’t receive the recognition I hoped for, so I took it upon myself to refine the message. This new version, Unyielding, is a more focused, powerful expression of the core philosophy I’ve been striving to convey. It's direct, and every word is crafted to emphasize resilience, inner strength, and the relentless drive to rise above adversity. I believe this captures the essence of what I wanted to say in a clearer, more impactful way.

"All this really is so silly.
You don't need to cry,
you're a big girl"

When really all Im hearing
Is how you think I should deal
With the world
You can't tell it's persevering
It's how I choose to heal
From the chaos its unfurled

As if it's only suffering
You've only known one part
You cannot see the peace it brings
It humbles my bleeding heart

The sun will start to reach me soon
Every time I go outside
It's radiation turns me into
Someone new and I
Will wonder why
I stayed inside my room

But just like you can't feel the warmth
If you have never felt the cold
You cannot learn to love yourself
If you choose not to see the old

The habits, the regret
The sadness, the unrest
It walks hand in hand with the
Moments at their best

The laughter, the worth
The rotting beauty of the earth
It's alive and then it dies
It cycles with intent
It doesn't bother with goodbyes
Just like the night and sky
It knows what it's death will represent

I can't ride through that meadow
Without coming out with pedals on my bike
Just like I'm never clean
I'm covered in the residue of my life

And even though I cry
It's meaning is never lost on me
It's about how hard I try
To face the worst and still believe
There will be another time
I know what all the struggle means
It isn't just a knife

The sun will shine
The rain will pour
I will certainly cry once more
In a life that's truly mine

It's not about defeat
It's not about demise
It's not about trying to compete
It's all about surprise
The shock and awe
To find yourself alive

After all we've suffered
After all we bled
To hope we can recover
That this is not the end

If one day
You finally understand
Who I was and who I am
You might know why I would cry
And possibly join in next time

On that day is hope
That you can call and tell me
If it is really all that silly
How I choose to cope

It isn't black and white to me
Can't you see
That I believe
Life is a kaleidoscope
Reds and greens of suffering
Blue tones of hope
Coloide inside
A cinemascope

The light that shines
Can be so bright
It blinds sometimes
And all I can do is cry
The suffering is the best part. It helps me see the worth.

Four souls sit cramped with little room,
her arms ache as she pulls each stroke,
the waves swell and grey skies loom,
as her husband complains about the boat.

Her child is sat safely between her feet,
she fights the current, wind and rain.
Her sleeping dog is curled up by her seat,
as her husband whinges of cold and pain.

"Won't you help?" she asks irate,
her voice as steady as each stroke.
He sighs and shifts about his weight,
nearly tipping over the boat.

The water seeps between the boards,
she bails it out with her sore hands,
while he sits there, sighing and hoards
the space while making demands.

"Here," she says, "take this lifevest,
it is the only one we own."
He grabs it quickly without protest,
still wearing his entitled frown.

Her arms are sore, her back aches,
but forward still she toils,
until his complaints crash final waves
as her blood silently boils.

Fuelled by frustration, her spirit strong,
she rows towards the distant shore,
"This weight I've carried far too long,
and I cannot take it anymore."

"The boat's too small," she simply says,
"This load alone is too much to bear."
Her choice is made in the open sea
and she leaves him floating there.

With her child and loyal dog on board
the determined woman pressed on,
and rowed towards the shore
and onwards towards the warmth of home.

If these tainted deeds and misgivings are etched in my blood,
Then please, take them to me like a maple tree.
Tap into my veins and drain the ichor.
Let its sticky black residue confine your lungs to heavy, heaving breaths.
Then, you can tell me the weight I carry.

If sickness is pre-determined, and my mind is meant to bend and break,
Then pierce my eye with your pick and hammer.
Chisel ego into id and supersize its purpose.
Until my destiny is marbled like the rarest steak,
Cook me until I am less raw.
Like unforgiving nerves exposed to the cold, slow thaw.

Fate does not choose me. I deny it the grace of a salutation.
I choose my destiny by way of destination. Of my choosing.
See, I like to spin the globe, throw a dart upon a map,
And roam where the tip lands.
To carve an unbeaten path.
I am my own master, beholden to none other.
No god, petty demon, or fallen angel.
Not a pious man, nor a shrewd woman could tame the force within me.
I am the whirlwind.
You are not a burden, you are not weird because you don't fall in line, you are not your family's mistakes or traumas, you are you. You are a force you didn't even know existed. Be the whirlwind, shake up your status quo, be more because you are more.
I wonder,
I ponder,
The path I need to take.

I march my way in grassy fields,
To see what I can make.

I trod here,
Trod there,
I trod to find my stake.

For each path hurts its own,
Each path has its wake.

I hike thee,
I climb free,
A mountain I should quake.

The paths are getting harder now,
I tremble and I break.

A wall here,
A crack here?
I must find flaws I forsake.

Each wall built that blocks my path,
Brick by brick I take.

Now a bend,
Sweet end,
The last is not fake.

My journey had gone coming quick,
It is final, my sake.
A journey each takes.

It’s a deep cut
Growing into these bones
I resented before

Where I am
God is not
Deadbeat killer
Overdosed alone

Light at the end of the tunnel
Is overwhelmingly bright
Blinded on my way in
Lack of navigation

Heart is beating but
It was meant to stop
This feels really dark to post here but oh well
