She runs to catch up, he leads the way,

I'm sure that their love has seen better
days

It's probable that they'd always held
hands

while she made sure he felt like the
  man

He'd hold the door open as she walked
  in,

now he runs ahead & she's left chasing
  him

They both sit at the diner with nothing to
say,

he reads the dinner menu as she looks
away

What ever happened to how was your day?

The golden couple is now a dull
  gray

They eat in silence & when they are
through,

he pays the bills without any
cues

They leave the same way they walked
in,

he runs ahead & she is chasing him

Whatever happened to make them this way?

A couple with nothing left to say
As couples age, they stay even after they no longer enjoy each other's company. It's sad & every time I see it I wonder what's she chasing after, more misery ?
Euphrosyne Mar 2020
A flower boy is in love
His words run like river
His mouth scented like flower
His mind full of words in power
He expres his feelings like shower

He travels to the unknown
He wanders and float
Because nothing matters
Nothing, except his dream girl

Flower boy confessed
Because he felt loved
Flower boy was rejected
But now after flower boy did,

A flower boy is still in love, but,
His words run like tears
His mind full of fears
His mouth once full of flowery words
Now it disappears
His heart is now in shears
This poem doesn't mean that I'm giving up.
It means I'm hurt.

You built my wings out of stained glass
The sun shined the brightest that summer
So I got set to soar and shower the world in color
But as I took off, my wings felt weak
you clipped them in mid air and stole them right from me.

So I fell
colors spiraled now
out of control,
reds and oranges swirled down
yellows crashed,
greens collapsed.
I landed in the sea
the deepest shade of blue.
I continued to sink in the sea
to violet sands,
purple tundras swallowed me
without my wings
on my body.

Why did you do that?
Build me a way out
and take it away?
Create an escape
just for play?
