My biggest fear in this life is to be insignificant,
to change the world in no way fathomable
and that my being is forgotten forever;
to not be remembered.

There is so much that I want to say, need to say, but the way to
release is not yet apparent.
I fear that my time will run out.

But then I remember, that my
veins that coarse with blood are the maps of the world
that I am yet to discover
and that this life is a journey and I was born to travel.

And the crimson and plum shapes that decorate my
flesh which hold many memories inside their outline,
are the collapse of a nebula in the sky
that creates the birth of a star.

I, myself, collapsed.
I crumbled to the ground into dust and could find no way to grow again.
But that was not my destruction, after all.
It was my birth.
I was reborn from the same dust as the stars and
I can soar through the sky with the blood pumping through my veins.

I am alive.
I am so alive because I am nature itself.
How could I be insignificant when I have
galaxies expanding through my body and
flowers blooming in my mind,
that are being watered by the fall of October rain.

I am nature itself,
and I have never felt
more alive.

I am full of the world.

I** walk down the hallway, keeping my head bowed low
No one looked my way, no one said "hello"
So many people, but they didn't know I was there
Invisible I seemed, to all everywhere
Going into class, I went to take my place
Nobody saw me, nobody recognized my face
It kinda looked like I was part of the four walls
Figuring I seemed a ghost, like I was in the hall
I shrugged and closed my eyes shut tightly
Could it be that no one can hear nor see me?
Answers were received for the rest of the day
Nothing I do seemed to make people look my way
This goes to show how unimportant I am

Try
You turn left and right,
you're on the right path you know it too.
Your feet know it.
You try to ignore all the sensations and vibes that you know come all at once like the wind. It happens less then a few times but those are the times that that left and right seem so beyond impossible to follow.

You
try
and
try

to ignore it.
You
try
and
try

to shove it farther down into you.
You
try
and
try

to blame it on something else.
You
try
and
try

to inflict it.

You try and nothing works.

I am not the author of my thoughts nor am I the poet whose poems you read.
I am only a vessel through which life exists; a witless witness of what befalls this body and mind.
Please excuse my false pride,
Forgive me my claims of titles and names.
I am merely the ghost in the machine within which I experience taste, touch, sight, smell and the chaos of clarity of mind.
I once knew with the certainty of the lost that I was the master of this universe,
Now I bow my head in pious recognition of defeated acceptance. Life is not to be lived,
Life is to be survived.
Free will is a conception of man's need and desire for order in a land where particles too small to be seen or felt rule with the supremacy of god.
We are nothing more than fish in the sea unaware of the ebbs and flows of the ocean around us in response to a moon we cannot even conceptualize.
There is peace in that thought;
If you can accept your insignificance you will realize how little that lost love matters for what is love but a micro atomic reaction to a cosmic event that happened light years from earth,
In which you were the victim of a joke you can't even understand.

It is strange how looking at an image of you
from so long since last looking into your eyes,

That I can still remember every breath caught
every moment of each second lived
in every silver touch standing in your eyes,
where it was like being seen for the first time,
until you saw too much and too deep and too fast

and then you blinked and I was gone.

Removed from your thoughts and from your life and from your love
which moved on to another, more worthy,
upon whom you can look longer, stand taller, gaze deeper
than I can ever hope to achieve to be.

I am not ready to allow my broken body to yield to you
The centuries have weathered and ruined me
My mind stays, it insinuates movement, restless and hopeful
I am a vessel that bleeds out dreams and simplicity
I long for escape, I long to free myself from insignificance
My muscles ache under my skin from being mangled
All of my bones lie broken
So I am left here, to reflect on how nonessential I am
And I can only gaze at the same sight I've seen
I have been coerced to watch the earth, who does not appreciate me
For I am nothing but the moon.
