The Mason and His Statue

at first, I am a block of stone
and you are a chisel
carving pieces of me away
and then you are a diamond drill
and then I am polished
mounted
wheeled out of the room covered in stone dust and into the liquid darkness of a hallway
and ten arched windows pass me by
for the very first time I can see the sky

I’m in the middle of the room
with a nameplate on a stand beside me - did I have a name before?
I’m just me
and there’s more of me all around me
standing
sitting
eyes reaching… quiet.
The doors open and the footsteps arrive
I hear water outside and see out the windows at the end of the hall and sometimes if I’m lucky they open them and I feel a breeze on the side of my face
but the funny part is -
the best time of day is when they close all the doors
and it’s just me and the janitor who’s mopping the floors

in case you were wondering
why I’m not there anymore
in the middle of the room in plain view on my pedestal
they took me down
too dated or too worn or just not new
wrapped me in canvas and put me in the back of a storeroom
where for the first time I experienced damp, and cold
and I learned that it was a bad thing to be old

but
then I was worn enough to be disposable
and they put me in the park
I’m by the fountain - come and find me
there’s no barriers and no nameplate telling you what to see
and yes, the wind blows and I’m a little more exposed
but I’m free
I was going to explain my feelings behind this poem, but if I wrote it well enough then you'll feel them - and explaining is cheating anyway.

Meet mistress color.
She is your friend.
The Red Goddess signifies love.
The yellow optimism.
Green prosperity.
And purple peace.

Meet the male deity of color.
He is your friend.
The Brown deity teaches to ground.
Grey lets emotions flow.
Black invites silence
And orange anchors new dawn.

Meet gold and silver,
spiraling into mystical love and light!
The gold that celebrates
a creative light.
The silver that makes one vibrate
inside love every moment.

Meet your inner self
It is your friend
It mirrors endless possibilities
and carries dreams with rainbow light.

He's falling in a dark abyss
this time he can't be saved
tried to hang on ropes of time
But they couldn't bear his weight
he screams loud but no one hears
Not because he's quiet
It's just too loud for our ears
a hand softly rubbing his back
a thumb removing a fallen tear
she said " Don't worry, I've got you. I'll chase away you fears"

It is not weak to yield
nor is it courageous
to rely on subterfuge
Speaking your inner truth
comes from daring to brave
eye rolls
shaking of heads
and mouths that smile yet
form cruel sentences all the same
You'll bleed
dripping perspiration
oozing all the love
you cannot find
Just when it seems as if
the sun is obscured by clouds
you get to your feet
tense muscles unclenching
utterly at the mercy
of all the light
you are just now starting to see.

Speak your truth. Live your dream. Act on your word.
Everybody whom you come across in your life are able to plant seeds thus the indulgence. A seed which only reveals through a conscious state of mind and shall only come out at our full potential, deep contentment.

A miraculous progress fed on our consciousness, a triumph to self exploration and development towards the inner peace we want.
It is a purer form of self growth through self reflection upon actions, thoughts, feelings and experiences of ourselves and others.

So do not drift into shadows after a mistake, change or loss in life. Rather create an inner dialogue, explore your experiences and surround yourself with consciousness, a purer form of salvation shall be met.

mind is a wound scroll,
unwinding won't reveal it;
inward journey could!

Remember that have to nurture your own light
before it can shine
Even if you are empty
even if there is no one to hold your hand
You'll find that a different kind of strength
comes from what you go through
alone.

You are strong. You are brave. You are here. It will be over soon.
Hold yourself until the tears dry.
Hold yourself until you feel your soul gain some of the weight
it lost.

I have been unmade and made anew
bolts loose, screws askew
metal stitches holding jagged words abrew
Light a match, no make it two
don't smile at me
I know its true
don't construe my issue
with you
respects not owed and its not due
don't feed me lies
my trust you blew
spooned shards of glass
masked subterfuge.

Don't cast me out
don't look away
I'm a stowaway
renegade
castaway
what makes you think I will obey?
I know the face that I portray
like I'm asking to be betrayed
but cut some slack, bits of leeway
I'll scrounge for scraps
don't make me pay
you cut my tongue, I won't soothsay
the odds for me will soon outweigh
just watch I'll drop this masquerade
and I'll cutaway
to counterweigh
this disarray
