I heard the other day that you went to touch the blue horizons, riding the lonely waves.
I heard the other day you were walking along the endless shores, stretched across for miles upon miles.
Leaving only your solitary footsteps behind ...

I have never seen these shores, never glided on the blues.
Never caught a glimpse of the vastness that embraces eternity with such grace.
Never for a second in the life of a singular eternity have I thought that maybe, just maybe, serene feelings lie in simplicity.
So, next time, when you go to the and walk along the endless shores to meet the horizon,
Will you take me along? ...

It's just that I've been thinking recently.
How, from the beginning, we are rigged to self-destruct.
How much we yearn for oblivion with every atom in our flesh and blood.
Yet, we never think for a moment about these footprints we leave behind.
And our parting sighs ..

If you look at me now.
Sleepless nights, bloodshot eyes, weary soul, and still trying to reconnect.
But you were always beyond my reach, always up so high.
Endless foolish attempts of mine to reach you among the stars.
But everytime I have overlooked one simple fact.
That you have always belonged to the sky ...

Live on, and keep dreaming on.
These self-centric lifestyles, mine and yours, ours and theirs, closer and torn apart.
If this is the definition of love,
Why am I fighting for peace? ...

But I heard that you still dream, still write stories, poems, and songs about all of us.
Chant music of the olden days from the depths of your soul.
The saga of human existence still makes you think that love still blossoms.
In the far corners of this world, like a still blooming rose.
So, the next time, when you write another song about the love that still blossoms,
Will you write some lines about me? ...

You should write something beautiful, something only a foolish romantic would say.
"Hold my hand close in the middle of a crowded street, and maybe I will reconnect."
So that I can answer you with this,
"Make me believe in closure again, and maybe I will again look at your face." ...

If it's not too much trouble, can we just talk all night?
Just you and I?
Until the stars cross our paths,
And sing us a lullaby? ...

I heard that you still wait for the end of the eons at the edge of eternity.
Still watch the starry skies on melancholy evenings with the eyes where the horizon finally came to rest.
I have never seen this edge before, nor have I seen such evenings.
So, the next time when you go there,
Will you invite me? ...

Maybe we will watch the starry explosions in the sky.
The end of everything on a melancholy evening,

With your hand in mine? ...

Every fire that's consumed it
Has gone cold and left it charred,
And every arrowhead that's pierced it
Left it bleeding out and marred.

No love has it received
That was not done so with great pain.
And none has it yet given
That has not it wrung and drained.

Today, no man's embrace
Offers me warmth that I can feel,
For now my heart is guarded
By a cold permafrost shield.

During the time we were apart,

wounds formed scars on my heart

Now whenever I close my eyes,

I see you & her, I can't deny,

when we kiss it isn't the same,

I feel your mouth say her name

then I flashback to where we were,
when I caught you alone with her,

I know you want us to move on,

but I'm not sure I am that strong

It's not easy to forgive & forget,
because I am not over it yet

Just because it fell through for you,
doesn't mean I should go back to you

You should have thought about it first

before you decided it was me, you'd hurt

I 've been with you through thick & thin

and you **** on me again & again

Don't blame me for what you've done,

I won't miss you when you are gone

While you were busy replacing me,

I was seeing what I couldn't see

Now that I have really opened my eyes,

I love you less than I realized

So, thanks for the favor for me

Maybe she is still there waiting
For anyone who's ever given there all & received nothing.
Debbie Apr 15
The jagged pieces congealed to a thick solid numbness.
My heart became a frozen iceberg to what you casually confess.
Bone white, splattered in moonlight, it now protrudes
in the motionless black onyx ocean of my soul.
Desperate to absorb the solace the glowing darkness eludes.
Yet alone, I shiver with the ice of your truths.

Who you want
may very well not want you.
Why is it we covet so, the shineless promises,
warning signs of the cold blatant truth.
A dull fact, you were never mine.
I chase the unrequited with my neurons of denial.
Roman. You were never mine.
Tamera Pierce Apr 13
Oh, duplicitous lover of mine—
who are you, lying beside me?

The father, whose pride rings from your mouth
like the bells of liberty?

The husband, whose arms once lifted my soul?

Or the traitor who razed his own kingdom—
a castle turned to rubble at your feet?

So cunning, you are-
the parasite at the bottom of the glass,
a shadow shifting in the room,
with poison on your tongue.

Do you love me today?
Or them?

How long will your eyes cling like cobwebs
to strangers who were never yours to seek?

How long before you feel
how cold our bed has grown?

My touch?

How long until you notice
I am not asleep—
just lying beside a memory.

I’ve heard your denials,
your guilt already etched in stone.

Your hands hold me like a promise.
Yet,  your eyes betray me like a curse.

And still—
I feel the echoes of our late-night dances
stream down my face as I cry today.
Different tears.

Same man.

I am the witness to your storm,
and still I reach for your warmth—
like a ghost returning
to the scene of its death.

I do not know the man who holds me.
But I remember the man I love.

So I lie still in this haunted bed,
wondering if I am mourning
you—
or myself.
Between you & me the sands of time ran out

So many memories that I forgot about

Riding out on a canoe, swimming at the Gap

The first time you kissed me, I was taken aback
First date in January snow, it was so **** cold

Your love was the first I'd known & it felt like gold

Going out to your parent's place, I was so **** scared,

and from the look on your face, you were scared as well

but it all worked out & we had a good time
Without any doubts we got along just fine

We dated for a long time & before we knew

You were all mine & our love grew

Sadly, I was much younger than you
You grew more serious than I really knew

You were ready to marry & wanted to have kids

More quickly than I ever did
You began to scare me with all your
needs

And I wanted more than I received

You were my first love, but the timing was bad
I was too young & you were all I'd had

I wanted to live, I wanted to love

I wanted to see what else there was

I'm so sorry I hurt you, it wasn't my intent

I was too young to know what love really meant

I know you loved me & wanted it to work

Believe me, I never wanted you to hurt

It wasn't until the same thing happened to me

That I knew I had to tell you, I am so sorry
I wrote this for my first love.
They were breaking her, she was their favorite game,
Her face was a blur, they all called her names,

She could have been anyone; they just had a need

to hurt someone with their reckless deeds

Fragile as glass, they chipped away at her,
all in the same class, they liked throwing dirt

Some said she had demons of her own
they exorcised theirs by computer & phone

They saw her as weak & hoped to bring her down
They sought out to seek someone to push around

It all became too much; she committed suicide

It was just too much for her to abide

They had broken her, she was their favorite game,

To them a faceless blur whose life forever changed
The cruelty of bullying effects people more than we know.
Damocles Apr 12
When the rain falls,
Washing away the caked-on dirt from your face,
The thick of your web fails as the silk drops from the weight,
And I can breathe again.

Free from the venomous barbs and guilt-ridden limbs
That poke holes in my skin,
Free from my vital force being drained,
No longer a mere husk or cask
For you to tap and drain the crimson liquid,
I am no longer a dinner tray for your demonic maw.

I won’t be suffocated by your vice-like grip darkness,
I can’t be held down by the dimly lit specters,
I won’t save you from yourself,
Since you only wished to drown me further.

I am free of it,
Falling onto verdant paradise,
As the sun ignites my soul ablaze,
I can live again!
Another journal entry turned into a poem. Man I was an angsty teen lol
You have taught me how to hate

You have yourself to congratulate
You showed me what would be my fate
and it was more than I could take
I still gave you everything I had
You left me holding an empty bag
Now you have dug your own grave
I hope when you crawl in, it caves
I have since removed my heart
   You'll never get another part
It is time you feel the loss
Miss all the love you've lost

When you realize that you were wrong,
I will already be long gone
And all the hate you showed to me
Will come back on you times three
