a smile a whisper
what do we have here
so wide that
well it must hurt
pulling you from cheek to cheek
no no don't take it away
as soon as you do that
I wont have a reason
for a smile
let me see it close
so I may see it all
and if it attempts to run
I would love to
try to bring it back
with a whisper

Footnotes
Looking through the keyhole of Love
and this is what you’d find

When the grandchildren began to speak
there are two grandmothers
so one was recognized as grandma and
the other recognized as Nana.
That way whenever the children spoke,
we all knew who they were referring to.
I am Nana

cigarettes after *** playing in my ears
I look up
it's cloudy
I lose my footing
and smile to myself

it's warm again

Your curls have my fingers
So tight they won't let go

I could live here, hands on your head,
myself, your cargo.

Take me far away from here,
Around this great blueberry.

I'll ride high on your shoulders,
Or walk when you get wary.

At night, sleep, face up to the moon,
Your scalp set in my palms.

I'll tell you things about the stars,
my gentlemen in arms.
This one is about being with someone you can have adventures with

I hear the sweet songs of the birds deep into my heart
The sweet fragrant smell of the rain rejuvenates my soul
The beautiful flowers blooming reawakens my mind
The warmth of the sun brings my body back to life
Spring has come oh so lovingly

-Shelly Ramos
I worry a lot,
And I know I need to stop,
But I can't just leave anxiety,
It's a human instinct inside of me.

I worry for your safety,
I worry for mine,
It's a cold world out there,
Without enough fire to keep us all warm.

So if you're struggling,
Please confide in me,
I worry so much for you,
For your happiness.
You cherish the things you love, it's why we become obsessed.

I met a woman who wiped my tears
Who listened to my traumas from the past years
She never judged, she stayed calm in my storms
So much so that it never dawned on me that she was worn
From all the hate I spilled making messes left and right
Burning bridges and reacting out of spite
She held on she was tough
But her future holds the light
Therefore she had to leave
She could not stay
I begged and begged and reminded her promise to be here when our hair turned grey
I have never known a love like hers
A woman who puts others before her
That's where I want to stay
That's where I'll spend my nights
I will have to change if I want a spot in her light

Sun is setting but this time of year it stays hot through the night
So skip your bed and come with me
Let's explore let's ignore responsibility
Whole worlds counting on us simultaneously not giving a ****
Sun is ******* coming up making us spend that buck
I can't tell you what the future holds but I know
We'll be solid floating through life as we know it
The chosen ones we can no longer ignore it

Another gray hair?
Oh well.
Guess I’m silvering
One step closer to being a timber wolf
And I still adore the night
Howling at the moon, dancing with the stars
Seeing how the lights attract
I’m a moth to the neon
Listen to the hum as we drift
Up and down the city trails.

One more day,
Here it comes,
Aches may pain
But I’m super, man
When the rays shine on
Can’t complain, when everything is stellar.

Out of this world and into whatever may come,
Face it on with one step forward
The chapter’s closing and a new book opens
What will I write, who will I be?
What is to come? What will we see?
Take it as it comes, inspired by inspiring
Wisdom is burning, so sit by the fire
Watch the memories play in a flicker
Stay for the s’mores and a beer

It’s gonna be one helluva year.
Accepting that I'm reaching middle age this year, and seeing as an opportunity to live the next half as fully as I can, while holding onto the wisdom of everything I learned along the way.

An emotion or an illusion?
When you think, you are.
When you want, you can.
When you don’t—can you?

A state or a fate?
Do you decide it, or not?
Is it in your mind,
or beyond thought?

Is it materialism or a bond,
a lasting memory of years along—
a friendship, a relation, an achievement,
or nature’s quiet appreciation?

Is it real, or is it fake?
Something defined, or something I make?
A gaze into eyes,
or a stare at the stars?

If it is peace,
does it shine in the night sky?

Is it beautiful, or merely calming?
Cool or exciting—does it differ for all?
A claim to most,
or the worst of all?
Found in small things,
or in things that are not?

A sip of coffee in the cold,
or a cool breeze in summer’s warmth?
Is it in birth, or in death?

Up until now, more or less,
if I am in confusion,
so are you.
Asking yourself—
What is happiness?
I wrote this a year ago, the question still lies my mind- the emotion specifically happiness, I don't know it's a mere satisfaction or something pleasing , it emerges a variety. Often bind with something pleasing or which makes you feel good, nevertheless a emotion is something which defies logic , that's why its different from a mere thought process , it's unpredictable sometimes following a pattern sometimes it does not.

But my improvised question is that what is the most basic and substantial thing which is found in every source of this happiness.
