You said "no way it can't be done"
you've never seen the power of one

When the fire was lit to drive me more
I called on God with all  that lay before

It started with a spark to get it going
They look and asked "what is she doing"

I did it for the one that needed a voice
The innocent one who they said had no choice.

They called  me stubborn and even a pain
I don't mind for  I'll do it again.
We are often given opportunities to make a difference. For love of another, for compassion for the less fortunate, the abandoned.  Once who are victims.  It only take one person at a time , making small changes.
Post slumber
Nothing changes when I reopen my eyes
Your smile and gait
Same puzzle piece reverie coming together
Like coarse bark and smooth leaves of walnut trees
Or your articulation and my weak knees.
Even when the road ceases
Let my affection not be a sojourn of the mind
But an embraced destination, instead.

When?
Pt. 2
SQUID Aug 2017
Sometimes I don't finish
Some things I begin
Somehow, sometimes,
Something ATE it!

Her thought on my head,
Waking up to her dream.
Warmth of my bed,
Relish the doughnut cream.
Poetry that no longer bled,
Flowing in seamless stream.
Watching how the day sped,
Remembering my work team.
I now just need to focus what I was fed,
My self-confidence touches a new theme.
The theme is not self-centered,
Now I watch my work's completion beam.
The theme is now work-centered,
I have found salvation in my eyes agleam.
A conventional ABAB rhyme scheme.

If truth is omnipresent
then it equals death.
So what am I?
A lie.
Alive.
As long as I'm not gone
nothing's set in stone.
There is time to thrive.

I'm the cracks that crawl
along the cold etched words
I'll be back into the mold
that shelters all of us
but not today.
Before it is all lost,
it all must be gained.
a gesture
a look
infinitesimal interlockings
of thoughts and dreams
lightning awareness
to love you
and be loved

You’re eyes are black and white
They make me think you have an old soul
They remind me of classic films,
Of the dusty keys on our piano
Different races but no winner from competition.
I wonder
What these sunglasses will do for you

You mean more to me than words can express,
Your eyes and your smile light up my world.
Your laughter makes my heart young and free,
Nothing will do to show how much you mean to me!
I'd give up the world to be a part of yours,
I'd stop the world to melt with you.

You complete me, my other self:
What I lack, you can provide.
You fill me up; you make me whole inside.
You understand what I think and how I feel.
I feel more comfortable and at ease when you are close,
We compliment and balance each other.
I treat you with love and care and great respect
For, as you are a part of me, what I do to you I also do to myself.
You are an answer to prayer, a blessing divine:
For when I was created, I swear God must have had you in mind!
