She's wicked winter, one time I was told.
They get the chills from her airs; so cold.
Their deep despise they never did disguise...
Alas, 'tis only warmth that melts frosty ice.

Something about rain thrills me,
Chills me,
Makes me shiver to the core.
Sends pure ecstasy through my veins.

Something about a storm excites me,
Ignites in me,
A sense of wanting more.
Begging for an adventure to begin.

Something about the sounds calms me,
Yet alarms me.
Makes me want to race through the storm,
Laughing as I jump into its games.

Something about the smell
Portrays in me,
A delicate being,
Waiting to be born.

you hear the whisper in your ear
the chills run up and down your spine
this simple thing invoking fear
such a feeling you cannot define

when it truly surfaces, the fright
is when some senses are impaired
muffled sounds in the darkness of the night
is when you'll be really, truly scared

Into the hour of midnight
Fangs bursting veins
Chills running down your spine
Haunting the last breathe you take

Piercing screams echoing through your ears
Blood dripping from a tender neck
The faintest whimper of the lips
Thud falls to the ground

Cries heard from desperate lips
Echoing into the night
Tears run dry
For a life no more

"I think this is a poem you wrote on my phone (or it is something I wrote). I can't remember. It is from a time period when we were in the desert and both had working phones." - Sarah

Martin's musings
If you thought you had met the love of your life- what would you do? The heat is up our chills up and down, and the faces the old women make in drug-induced ticks, heavy noisome smells mixed with the best greatest sweetest smelling true love you've ever known.

And five times a day now you spend hours and hours entwined and touching and being touched by the greatest and softest skin cells your skin has ever been against

And with perfervid excitednees, a cold chest, but tepid limbs, you avoid blinking to extend the lifespans of us both.
While driving through Joshua Tree National Park I dictated these lines to my fiancée  Sarah Gray she added several lines herself, most oftenly everything after the first line of each stanza.

As the cold crept under my skin
so did your kisses
as you planted them softly
on the carpet of goosebumps
that covered my body

As the wind slapped my face
with chills
so did your hands
as they cupped my red cheeks
holding it still
marveling at the beauty
that has bewitched you

As the rain damped my hair
curling them with winter surprises
so did you fingers
as they hypnotized me to sleep
uncurling all the disadvantages of the day

As the flakes rested on my lashes
so did yours against mine
as you got close to me
synching your breath with mine

As January embraced me
with layers upon layers of wool
so did your arms
as I roll under
my sheets
feeling my skin
against
yours

Your scent still lingers.
It reminds me of the winter breeze, so chill and cold to the bone; so brittle, yet joyful.
It reminds me of you: so sad and cold and empty, but still thriving to bring joy to others.
Thank you.

everyday
I think of how
Life would've been
If you didn't leave

everytime
My heart beats a little faster
At every thought
Of your left soul

every second
My mind races
To the way your hair
Would touch
Your face

every hour
I wish that
you didn't leave
On that very day.

i can still taste your lips
when i tell them you locked me out
i can still feel your arms
when people try and console me
i can still hear your laugh
whenever my friend makes a joke
you are everywhere
absolutely everywhere
so why am i crying alone
why am i trudging through the days
without so much as a "how are you"
but then again,
your lips burned me.
they set fire to my skin
but then again,
your arms had thorns.
they were beautiful but deadly
but then again,
your laugh made me cringe.
it sent cold chills up my spine
but then again,
i never loved you.
