We’re like two sunflowers, dear
Intertwined and always near
But when you’re gone

In which I am alive
For whatever reason I rise
Away with it or not
But why would the key disappear

One dozen migratory Black-and-white Warblers lay
like fallen piano keys on the sidewalk in front
of a 14-story glass constructed building;
I watched as the janitor swept
them into the street.
