May 4
today i meditated on
the concept of myself as manure
myself as fuel
the ground from which a new self
could sprout up and grow

i rsvp'd to your bathtub date idea
and laid myself down in the
carbon cycle of the afternoon.
you know how it is.

sunbathing
suspended in this memory
the branches doing that
kaleidoscope effect they love so much

my head is still attached
but it oozes the glossolalia of
ancient radioplay and
i'm tossed between the waves

reeling in the yard
reeling in the yards of rope
between us
to embrace you in this
guillotine

we are not two people
but an **** of shadows
writhing in a flashlight theater

if you promise to be the light of my life
we can **** the darkness together
