A Sad Cloudy Morning; When does it end?
Hands on the wheel,
Going nowhere still.
Clouds roll by,
As I wonder when...
If..I will.
Stopped in traffic,
Engine screams.
Outside: chaos;
Inside: a dream.
Waves crash again.
Cravings for you;
I never outgrew.
Hit like fists;
Boxing blues...
Close my eyes,
Nowhere to hide.
Breathe in deep...
Hold it:
Or die.
Siren whines.
Red lights blur.
The rear view glows
With what once was her.
Slow exhale,
We're moving again.
Foot on the gas;
Blurred past.
Escape the race...
Thunder behind;
Lightning keeps pace.
Act nonchalant;
Face drawn gaunt;
Wipers chant.
Drown out mind's rant.
As I sigh,
It's raining inside;
I'm just trying not to crash tonight.
