I am simultaneously
learning this new person
And
learning myself as a new person.

I am recognizing my weaknesses
While emphasizing my strengths.

I am acknowledging “the wall”
as a hinderance to be overcome,
although I am still hiding behind it.

I am scared and excited.
I am hesitant yet eager.
I am feeling
Despite my body
physically resisting the urge to do so.

I am open to the newness she unveils.
I am open to the uncertainty she brings.
I am open to the love she shows.

I am unsteady moving forward,
But I am happy.
I am so incredibly happy
With her.
