Wistful dreams, never to be real,
Her eyes, a beautiful shade of teal,
The things she had me feel,
Took my heart, thief,
Your feelings, ever so brief,
Yet I dream of a haven,
Far away from all civilization,
With only dreams of you and I,
On your love, get high.

Then I wake up, an alarm blaring,
My heart, (never repairing),
Took you for granted, left me stranded,
You were there—each time life reprimanded,
I love you, though I wish otherwise,
Maybe, if I’d been ever more wise,
We could be dancing in the moonlight,
Our brains on a flight, with love as the pilot,
I love you, yet I hate you.

I understand, yet I don’t,
I won’t ever hate you, I won’t,
All our good moments, ethereal,
To my heart, you’re imperial,
Forever, I’ll love you, forever,
Me and you, we’re better, together,
I love you, to infinity and beyond.
