Waves that shred their shells in departure
Made me wonder how I will survive.
Lost fields, greens, and love that faded
Never pitied the child in me.

Hair pinned, blouses and sarees draped pretty,
Searched in silence for kajal to hideβ€”
Tears that marked the unrecognized me.

Trashed mails and backup chats drove me insane,
Shaking the innocence I had gathered.
Friends who mastered art in me
Mocked me to favor others.

Through ups and downs, I muster the courage I lost
To tell youβ€”thanks for being a part.
Though our encounter is like a mirror,
I can see a part of me in you.
