Oh, were my love to stay away,
I would not know what I feel.
And if it were she may stay,
I would find if it is real.
But she was gone for a spell,
Is it alone I feel this loving splendor ?
And if it is I can not tell,
Do, to my feelings, I surrender ?
Oh, were my love to stay away,
I would not know what I feel.
But if she were to stay a day,
To her, my heart would be revealed.
