Hang Man
Niel John Ortizo Feb 2016
I was in the wrong side of the road,
To think that you and me could happen,
I thought that I was really strong inside,
But the wounds just started to deepen,
It's clutch to my throat never weakened,
That never let me fight back or break even,
But now I'm good as a dead man,
Just a wandering body who's soul never got to heaven,
Now with a rope on my neck ready tighten,
I hope someone finds me before eleven.

Grimoire for the Living
Niel John Ortizo Jun 2017
When all is lost,
Thou shall find,
The answers foretold,
Filled with ire,
Receive with glee,
All you loathe,
For the power awakens,
To fulfill its oath,
One question,
One reply,
For the cause is "I",
And effect is "you",
Will you bask in beauty,
Or abandon youth?
Will you live with fortune,
Or be destitute?
Come my child,
Ask and receive,
Tell me the price of your life.

Waiting
Niel John Ortizo Feb 2016
Lost without the stars,
Defeated in all the wars,
Stored pieces of my broken heart in jars,
Cause love was not true but only a farce.

But I don't want to hate,
Maybe all of this is fate,
So I'll stay clear here in my room and wait,
For someone to take those pieces and fix it straight.

The Madman
Niel John Ortizo Jan 2016
A madman,
Doomed from the start,
Only hears the tearing heart.

A madman,
Begs for love,
Yet lightning strikes from above.

A madman,
Craved only one thing,
To become someone's something.

A madman,
Walks in rain for you,
Just so your nights won't turn blue.

A madman,
Said I love you,
But there's nothing you can do.

The madman,
Asks for a chance,
And yes, the mad man is me.

Under a Tree
Niel John Ortizo Feb 2016
Under a tall old tree,
Lights with shades of three,
Can do wonders as far I could see,
Cause there is a man sleeping for eternity.

Strange Ways
Niel John Ortizo Aug 2017
Love really do comes in strange ways
Sometimes it can be a song
A gift
A letter
A pet
A dream
A poem
But where does it comes from?
The singer?
The giver?
The writer?
The owner?
The dreamer?
Or me?
A poet who sings for love
A poet who gives for love
A poet who writes for love
A poet who cares for love
A poet who dreams for love
A poet who lust for love
The love that's hard to find
The love that's worth it
The love that's encouraging
The love that's full of hue
The love that's true
The love that's only you
So how do I find this strange ways?
These strange ways that leads to you?

Painting on my Wall
Niel John Ortizo Jan 2016
I always had this painting on my wall,
And I answer to each of her call,
That I should move her across the hall,
To a private room quiet and small,
So she could tell me her stories and bawl,
Because her past is something to appall,
A girl promised by a lover to give her all,
Now a forgotten promise only she recall.

You are the moon
the precious moon
fleeting above the clouds;
out of my reach.

For me the earth
the lonely earth
basking in your radiance;
in a daze.

I gaze at you
the brilliant moon
even if you wax or wane;
until I am no more.

You
Niel John Ortizo Feb 2016
You
I really want to confess,
So I could let my heart out of this mess,
Which have been in a total distress,
Since I met you.

But myself can't handle,
Like burning myself with a candle,
Turning myself to ash in a bundle,
When I see you.

But if I do succeed,
I really want you to heed,
That everything I need,
Is you.
Valentine's special

Niel John Ortizo Jun 2018
I am but a flickering light,
A reflection of abandoned dreams and broken heart.
Will I cease to exist tonight?
A lost cause that will never be saved?
Showing a facade of the brave but all torn up and weary,
A husk of the former glory,
A dreary scene till the end,
In my dying embers I dream,
A dream full of love and happiness,
A contrast to my loneliness,
Abandoned till the end.

PURSUIT
Niel John Ortizo Aug 2017
A pursuit of truth,
From the happiness of my youth,
To a never ending cycle of pain,
To the love I never gain.

A pursuit of light,
From the sun shining so bright,
To the darkest time of my day,
To the moon who never play.

A pursuit of you,
From a love who is ever been true,
To a heart broken in two,
To a love story with no me and you.

Truth
Niel John Ortizo Feb 2016
A cold December passed on by,
Now a chilling summer is nearby,
A deathly cold wave down my spine,
A sign of your love that will never be mine.

A deep slumber,
For another brother,
Done by a bomber,
From another mother,
Left a spot of umber,
Also a pain like any other.

She doesn't sound the same,
You could only just remember her name,
With all the called for shame,
A person who remembers her name.

Invisible
Niel John Ortizo Jan 2016
Even a single spark
Would light up the dark
Of my endless nights,
Along this road of oblivion
Where doubt clouds my vision
Searching for that bright light,
Wishing someone finds me
Is the one and only plea
Of an invisible man in this society.

Will Your Hear Me Out?
Niel John Ortizo Jan 2016
Will you hear me out?

Sometimes I have a doubt
That my time is running out
Wishing that I could shout
This feelings.

I want you to know
That my love will forever grow
I just don't know how to show
This affection.

Now I 'm asking for a chance
Even just join you in a dance
In a whirlpool of love and romace
Just to hold your hands.

So will you hear me out?
Or just stay their and pout?
I want to hear it from your mouth
The answer.

I Will Wait
Niel John Ortizo Dec 2019
Was I demanding so much?
So much that you need to break my heart.
Is it really necessary?
Necessary to cut me off so suddenly.
And you didn't want me to wait,
To wait for the day that you're finally ready.
It was all because you are afraid,
You are afraid that you will hurt me more.
But I wont let you go,
I will never, even if it hurts me more than today.
Because I am so in love with you,
That I'm willing to bear this pain of the wait.
Even if you change your mind,
Even if you will not choose me in the end,
Even if you push me away again and again.
I will wait my love,
I will for you until the end.

Waking up
Niel John Ortizo Jan 2016
I just woke from a deep slumber
in a room quite a mess,
Thinking where could be that lover
whom gave me a fine sweet kiss,
Did she climb the highest tower
so she can finally confesss?
Or am I just a lonely dreamer
whom life is amiss?

Unconditional
Niel John Ortizo Jan 2016
Why do i like you?
Why is it so much?
Why everytime your hurt I'm angry?
Why is it I feel disappointed?
I won't give you up,
Until you become we,
Until You become happy,
Until then I won't rest my case.
