Whispers of decay,
Time's relentless march unfolds, Entropy's embrace
Can I
Live
In your
Moment?
I want to
Learn
Focus on my now
Learning to live in the moment
I met a genius on the train
today
about 6 years old,
he sat beside me
and as the train
ran down along the coast
we came to the ocean
and then he looked at me
and said,
it's not pretty.

it was the first time I'd
realized
that.
And so,
I looked back at the fire behind me
At all the orange and ash
I set down my pail
And my hardness sat with it
And I wept
And the scorched earth around me
Began to soften
And only then, did I know
Only in the eye of the storm,
Could I see
That I had not escaped

I had simply become one
With the flame
But the room was so loud and it was so late
(But you have legs and I have a voicemail)
But I forgot all about it
(But you remember now)
But I lost track of time
(But you saw the sun go down)
But why should I have to?
(But why don’t you want to?)
But the world is ending
(But you are my world)
But I don’t love you anymore
(But did you ever?)
random lil freeverse from ages ago (and several past lovers ago)
Let this be
the rhyming of my life:
the enduring joy-verily-
of writing poetry
Love takes over
where words fail
over all things else
does such silence prevail
Mom
I love you.

You are
the only
woman
I will ever
trust.
