Her
the moment a poet
falls in love with you

is the moment
you live

No, she isn't a poet
has never inked one
she takes off my weight
gets my things done

so I have enough time
to afford in a way
the luxury of rhyme
clever wordplay!

No, she isn't a poet
not written one line
clean is her slate
sees I'm fine

so I have enough space
and hour of my own
to indulge the grace
of thoughts mind grown!

No, she isn't a poet
no way she would be
she does her best
to see I'm happy

so my words run smooth
poems are easy born
truth and half truth
are spun night and morn!

No, she isn't a poet
cares not a bit
from her toil's sweat
my poems birth sweet

poems aren't her art
in the sun and showers
she grows from her heart
our garden's best flowers!
A tribute to the great gardener she is.
(5 years on hp this day, thanks to all my poet friends, you gifted me a rewarding journey)
i've never been
so not afraid
and so afraid
of losing
or loving
someone
before.

flowers
don’t bloom in concrete
I haven’t felt
warmth in 214 days
your eyes
tell me you remember
three years ago;
an unraveling
of flowers
the hazel
of which
reminds me
of the sunlight
on my grandmother’s
wooden floor.
your girl looks at you
in a picture on your timeline
does she see
your eyes
in the back
of her eyelids
did she ache for 423 days
without you
for your sake,
I hope she did.

unspoken words,
years of silence

it is time
to spread my wings

to embrace;

i am transgender
flatten your tongue
slip it between your teeth

n.

your little lips
forming an elipsis

o.

put them together
and may you declare
a word you’d so carefully deny—
no.

you spell it out
on table tops
shout it
from the rooftops

and when cursed hands
seek to defile your shrine
may you exclaim
"i am mine"
for my precious friends with hearts too soft to say no. may you be a little more selfish.
Let me out...I am the fury

Let me out...I am the pain

Let me out...I am the growing storm

That brings the driving rain.

Loose the shackles...I want freedom

Loose the shackles...Set me free

Loose the shackles...let me be those things

that I know I can be.

Break the chains...I've served the sentence

Break the chains...I've paid the price

Break the chains...The judge has ruled

and I won't be put on trial twice.

Tear the walls down...make 'em shatter

Tear the walls down...piece by piece

Tear the walls down...wreck the prison,

and let the dark confinement cease.

Smash the doors...the game has started.

Smash the doors...the race is on.

Smash the doors...And keep on running

until the coming break of dawn.

Let me out...I am the chaos.

Let me out...I am the deep.

Let me out...I've long been resting,

but I've no more time for sleep.
