Cool cloud shrouded air, here where I find myself
surrounded by giants, legends, these mountains
I am miniscule as one grain of sand
the people here are giant, green saguaros
holey, with birds that live within
they are fit with wild reaching arms
guardians of the desert land
anchored, deeply grounded
in this whirling vortex
unhurriedly they grow
blooming yellow flowered
with petals that pale and fall
they are true friends
that I have come
to know
I have plans for the moon
By night and by day
sometimes opening, sometimes closing
a seeing which does not depend on the eye
and an eye which does not merely see.
The moon gets behind me
and flows like a stream
inside a mountain
many dark miles unseen
before emerging as the source
of something pure that will heal me.

I have plans for the moon
like the sunflower nodding in the mind
shifts and keeps an eye
on father sun in the sky
resemblance does not depend on closeness
but the transfer of heat and invisible elements.
In the cool of the evening
a trail appearing through the dew
where an animal walks with a god
and man is missing from the middle.

I have plans for the moon
as the moon has plans for me.

Mayapples grow as ones and twos.
Wherever they must, whenever they choose.
When they are young they rise as one
over the forest floor on a single stem.
When they ripen and are laden
with fruit and flower the one
becomes two
I becomes you.

From then on, we bloom together
not as one alone
but as two together
balanced
on a single stem.
And between us blooms a flower
neither alone could bloom before
and from us comes a fruit
to seed the forest floor.
Some creative biology here. My myth is May Apples first grow as 'bachelors' then self-separate into a couple which is when they flower and fruit.
Written with love for my dear bride Brittany on the occasion of our marriage, 5-15-15

I also like how center alignment almost turns this into a concrete poem, you can see it as a vase and flower.

set up on the nice spongy ground

a ring of stones where a fire goes

strawberries all around

but they are quite now

just as the fire went

when the wind blew

they coat the ground

but their fruit is asleep

deep in their green

an idea in their genes

still none of this

is why day goes
Playing with a non-ordered form. Try to keep the phrases short and open-ended, and open-beginninged, so that each line can be attached to any of the others. Sense the sense in the shift of order.

a tiny fire engulfs my brain
my innate superpowers
lost across the synapses
away from the lethal electricity

"embrace me, embrace my beat"
my heart dawdles forth to my rescue
not my physical self
but my tiny wishes
it can't see my veins sob
bright red blood
bright red cheeks
                                                          Is that what it wants
its esoteric enigma is a heartfelt fantasy
"be practical, are you in your right mind?"
what's right, what's wrong
I'm aloof

brain is my roof
and my heart is my window
through which i will escape
stealing my mind and soul

mock me lampoon me
my footsteps will answer you
santa awaits my wishlist
                                              merry christmas.

lately
I've
been
thinking
about
how
I
absolutely
love
it
when
strangers
just
through
the
simplicity
that
is
manners
will
greet
you
with
the
most
genuine
hello, how are you
or
simply
a
smile
so
profound
and
unimpeachable
so
real
so
beautiful
when
strangers
meet
do i really need to copyright my thoughts?

Cascades of numbness suffocating the ecstasy.
The ecstasy you gave and
Took so thoughtlessly.

Bright lights dont dazzle anymore but blind.
Calm water doesnt sooth me now but triggers my fears.

And hope, hope lyes wallowing in the ashes of the past.
Waiting once again for the future to be different.
But hope will die.
Once again.
Hope will be a thing of the past.

Temptation to reach out
and touch his pain
to ease his worries
with all that I have.

But I am broken too.
And maybe I need someone
Just like you do.

Wholely addicted to the thrill she gives you.
But can't you see,
shes tearing you apart.
Limb

limb.
