In the shade, under the trees, in my garden of gloom;
I was enjoying a quiet solitary afternoon,
Accompanied by the wind and the flowers that bloomed
Among my lovely weeds that had grown too soon.

While getting acquainted with these elements I had found,
I heard from my porch a curious sound
Of nervous flapping of wings, and an eventual thud.
"A bird...it probably hit something", I thought;
And rose, dropping my rose, and turned around.

From a distance, I saw the poor soul fight
To fly off the ground, flapping with all its might.
As I ran up to where it struggled, it seemed
For a moment that it would succeed;
And for a few seconds, it was indeed in flight.

My delight was short lived though,
For soon its wings ceased movement; I saw
It fall through the air and land beside my feet.
The bird was quiet, even as I carefully lifted it
From the ground; and that's when I came to know,
That it was lifeless.

Your Mother

You bend your knees at the edge of your bed and clasp Ya hands together
"Dear ma, You are my definition of forever."
You fix your gaze up to heaven and Ya mind begins to wander, wandering back to the day you were 4 and your life became an unending dark abyss, the day that you stared death in the eyes of your mother, you proudly told me that you have her eyes.
The day you wish you could go back to and alter but never want to relive. The sound of a gun takes you back 13 years ..
This is the day Mother's Day lost its meaning.
This is the day Ya heart broke and grew shallow, never fully able to let anybody else in.
The day you realized you'd have to teach yourself all about being a female. Why every 21-28 days Mother Nature takes a toll on you, why you grew balloons on your chest, why some boys ain't **** and that its okay to like girls.
This is the day you developed a million dollar smile and half hearted laugh that never seems to fade.
As Ya BestFriend, I can see through Ya barricade and I know that you are never to be fixed and your walls will never come down and Ya guard will stay on instant alert.
But take my hand and grow with me, run with me .. Learn to breathe, learn to smile and laugh without having to fight back tears, let's learn to live in the moment and not dwell on the past. At such a young age you gave up your entire world, it wasn't easy and yet you make it seem so.
My definition of forever is also, Ya mother.

Twenty Fifteen

Been a week since the new year arrived at dawn's door
Seven sunrises had passed making way for many more
Resolutions, wishes, aspirations cast into winds of new days
In hopes they'd be carried forth on each dawn's new rays

Let us welcome the fresh air that come
Inhale it deep as reminder that we're luckier than some
Let us embrace the opportunity of time
A privilege bestowed so we could still pen in rhyme

Let us cherish the love from family and new found friends
Shower upon them the gift of verse that never ends
Let us strengthen existing virtual and physical connections
Reinforce them with kindness, fortitude and good intentions

Let us sieve past experiences that mar us black
Dispense with animosity, ill thoughts and considerations that lack
Let us trudge forward into the unknown together
Hands in hands and hearts to hearts into the unforeseeable future

No matter who you are or where you've been
We'll all get our fair share of twenty fifteen
We've all been granted if you'd only take advantage
In the great book of life, on a fresh, brand new page

Do note that this is just ideal advice not so much as a plea
I know the journey is long, arduous and never easy
I hope these words I've penned would lighten your load
Little bites of wisdom (I hope) for the long meandering road

I can't promise the rise of the nightly moon
But the sun will rise where you are; and it will arrive very soon

This is me being optimistic. I don't wear this garb for too long at a time so I'd like to spread it for as long as I have it.

how i wish you were here,
tangled up in my sheets
skin against skin, hands,
tracing the very outline of every orifice the slight
tugging from behind me and the sudden need to have you inside of me
i wish it were all here.
and we wouldn't need to **** like everyone else,
we would make love;
and it would mean something more than just anything because
i love you, and you love me
which means that we'll give each other a piece of our hearts
if not our whole hearts.
there will be fast paces and girlish moans, squirming and
everything that you can both hide and enjoy in between sheets because
i love you, and you love me.
you will touch every inch of my body, kiss every inch of my skin and i will gladly let you
take over me, lick me wherever you want and easily
slide yourself in me because thats what we'll want
and how amazing will it be to make love and feel loved afterwards?
when its all done and the night has finally settled
and the stars take their usual place back in the sky and ill lay
naked in your arms, my ears listening to your heart beat with an easy thump
and you will say nothing but look at me and kiss me, and mutter i love you
and i will say it back;
because regardless if we are naked, or clothed, or fighting, sad, angry or happy,
i love you, and you love me.
