Don’t you dare
Don’t you dare look
In that mirror
Like it’s broken
And your bad luck
Is the body in front of you
Don't you dare

Don't you dare
Grip your sides
Any harder
Wishing they could fall off as easily
As the anger and frustration
From your lashes could
Don't you dare

Don't you dare
Tell me
Your heart is
Only as big as your fist
For I’ve seen you kneel down
Your pride
For the happiness of another
Don't you dare
I swear to god don't you dare
Tell me
You are not enough
Because in all honesty
You’re right.
You are
So much
More
Than one
*******
Word,
My love.
And don't you dare
Ever
Believe any different.

You can pretend
That the black gloss
On my lashes
Will glue my eyes shut-
Make me blind to truth;
To ‘true knowledge.’
Go ahead.
Tell yourself
That my red-painted lips
Only spout nonsense.
It will only make it sweeter
When my wing-lined eyes
Give you whiplash
as I walk past you
To get my degree;
My award;
My paycheck.
Maybe if you’re ‘nice’
I’ll buy you an ice pack.

I remember that summer night
Everything much different from now
With the neighbor girl
Then my phone lit up
A text from you
A little bit confused
I thought you didn't know me
You said hey
And we went from there
Up till the sun rose
Then every thought after involved you
We all talked all summer
By the end I was convinced
Convinced we known each other forever
You promise to never hurt me
Never leave
Of course I believed you
Then school started
On the sunny August day
We were attached at the hip
Classes with you were my favorite
Then October left
And so did you
Everything you promised to never do
You did
But now we have that summer
to remember
To remember a lost friendship
"I miss you" is about the same person for those wondering. I hope you guys liked it.
