Winding ways
Shifting streets
Running roads
The car where she sleeps
Driving along these roads
Praying to get home on time
Eating her supply
Counting every dime
Soon she will be home
Just a few days
Least that's what she tells herself
So her dilemma will be erased
Just a woman trying to get home
Sleeps the night
Wake up in the morning
Back to the driving fight
She’s been gone enough
She needs to see her son
She must see him
Before her time is done
She escaped hospice you see
She is in great despair
She’s slowing dying
She knows it not fair
But her son must know
Her son must see
She didn't forget him
She had to flee
She will explain it all
Explain why she fled
And maybe she won't leave
Maybe she'll stay instead
But what's that light
She's got her blinker
It seems so stupid
But alas we have another drinker
Blinding lights
In the night?
I guess her time
Was tonight
As she lay down
At peace at rest
She can go out
Knowing she tried her best
Her son came to see her
Tears in his eyes
He was not expecting
This kind of surprise
They told him she was on her way
To visit him, a last chance
To fight her cancer
To live breath and dance
But her final moments
In the car she loves
On her way to see her son
But now she's above
