The sun is already warming
the first arousal of morning
but my lover is traveling the hills
and valleys of her dreams still.

Sweetpea knows the sounds
of my awakening and abounds
onto the bed’s corner place
where I read my first daily stirring of grace.

She knows of all the places she could land
it is here she gets the glide of my left hand
my hand across her soft brown coat she is well-versed
for she knows this time of day she is first.

"If I ever knock on your door, would you open it for me?
After all I've done, would we ever be back here?

Where we started? A place we should never have left?

Would you welcome me into your life?
Could I be so blessed?

You do understand don't you? The reason I have to go?
There is another in my life... Someone special I'm responsible for.

But I do love you. Remember that as I walk away...  Specially if i don't turn back, as you beg me to stay."

Run, run little rabbit,
Run far away from me,
Go, go little rabbit,
Go where I can’t see
Far, far my beloved
Far from my hungry eyes
Hide, hide my beloved
Hide from all my lies,
Quick, quick fragile flower,
Quick to turn around,
Fast, fast fragile flower,
Fast before I pound,
Down, down little rabbit,
Down before you fall,
Poor, poor little rabbit,
Poor to  listen to my call.
This was the first poem I wrote.

Pretty
Such a shallow existence
Unfortunately it's the way
To capture your attention
Pretty shallow
Is what I see
Pretty empty
Pretty upset
Well now that's me
Pretty much useless
I see pretty in many things
But pretty isn't much
Of anything

Let's pretend we are not in love

And go on walking

So I can fall for you

All over again
