words roll off your tongue
in a Times New Roman font size twelve fashion
a series of commas and apostrophes
slowly forming a catastrophe
a concoction of letters melting together
into sentences i'm trying to forget.
The tone in your voice with the
heart beats ringing in my ears
produce a sound I never wanted to hear
white noise kicks in,
maliciously feeding off of my insecurities
you turned me into a host
for your parasitic dreams
you are not a monster
and I am not the victim
but we'll play the parts
because it's all we've ever known
I can love you in every pulse of my heart and every shiver in my spine but that will not bring you home

She grew up into a beauty
And in all her white majesty
She became a heart’s desire

I am as empty as they come
a ship with holes in its floorboards;
life seeps in and out of me, a constant balance of nothingness.
I'm aware of the input, but it slides out from underneath me
before I have a chance to bid it a proper goodbye.

I am as empty as they come
a disillusioned body suffering from disorders of the mind;
a carcass of medication packaged neatly with skin and vacant eyes.

I am as empty as they come:
An abandoned ship,
An abandoned mind,
the disillusioned eyes of the blind.

I am as empty as they come.
But I too,
was once filled to the brim
with heart-pounding vigor.

There's a room full of vases
And each one is different.
Some have cracks,
Others, fractures;
Some have crumbled,
Others, shattered;
Some have different colours
In a patchwork pattern.
Some look whole and well
But only from a distance;
Others' cracks are so fine
Only the vase can tell it's broken.
But each vase is beautiful.
Each vase can be useful,
Be patched up and hold something.
This room full of vases
Appears sad to some,
But it is also
Brimming with life.
I get sleepy, but

if I let sleep greet me, the

giant will eat me.

Pillows of liquid silk encase my existence
Tufts of dusky thread frame my vision
As I disappear

Hands outstretched, grasping
The deformed shred of light
Ringed blue that
Is an illusion

Deeper
Light dimming
Shadows circle and twine around
A numb shell

Transparent
Fading into oblivion
Nihility
who?

My mind in the clouds

shouts to the body

below, commands it

to start walking

far into a world

of water, trees, birds.

True freedom lies in appreciation

of what you can access

but cannot quite understand.

Pay attention.

The understanding may come

sooner than you think.
