Do you ever just ponder
And wonder of life
The splender of nature
Of wildlife?
Nature is a wonder
Life is beautiful
I was just a girl
You had no right
You crushed my light
I could not fight
Bad memories
We've loved
We've lost
But at what cost

They come
They go
But we have to pay

They never do stay
The cost of losing them
How long has it been?
Long enough for memory to stretch thin
But never break

I'm begging to forget the lines of your face
The colour of your hair
The smell of your embrace

How long has it been?
Too long without a trace
of your everlasting grace
Fading memory of a loved one
I can hear it
The whooshing of the breeze through the branches of the tallest of trees

I can see it
The billions of glittering stars dancing on the still water mirrored from the sun high above

I can feel it
The cool lush cushion of grass beneath my bare feet tickling my toes

I can taste it
The fresh open air purifying my lungs with every breath I take

I can sense it
The freedom that calls to me on a primal level
This is where I belong

In nature
We belong amongst nature
It calls to us
When the time comes
When my heartbeats begin to fade
My eyes begin to flutter
I hope to see you there

Your floppy ears listen
Your crooked tail wags
Your smile grows wide
While you stand by my side
I hope to see you there

My best friend
My shadow
My furry soulmate
I hope to see you there
Forever in my heart 🐶
Love can hurt
It can feel like a burden
It can weigh heavy on the soul that feels too deeply
Unfathomable love
Desperate love that holds tight
To think of letting it go is to condemn the soul
An eternity of emptiness
Once so full
It hurts to love sometimes.
