Water

I wish I was water

Then I could run faster than any thought
And any feeling
In any language

And I could carry any weight
No matter the strength missing
In me

And I could always move forward
As long as there is a shape for me to take
I would take it

If I'm not water
I am a shape
And I could be stuck in one place forever
No water nor tea can quench an inhuman thirst.
That which one cannot have
becomes the object of obsession.
Delusional desires spiral,
the soul caves in,
and all that remains
is this lesson you were given.
I could stare at the sun
if I was promised I'd see your face.
I'd go blind searching for the bridge of your nose,
the crease of your eyelids, the curve of your lips.
In the visual silence I'd forever see you.
A promise held true.
Even in blindness, I'd still see you.

turn your back
but stay in view at the same time
(now look away,
anything else confuses)

stand still without saying a word

you can’t see but this is how
i separate day from night

and the starless sky
from the empty heart
God made us best friends
because he knew our mom
wouldn't be able to handle
us if we were siblings.
❤️Cute saying I found. Very true, indeed! ❤️
