When I see the Haitian flag, tears rush into my eyes.
When I see the Haitian flag, my Haitian heart cries.
Our people have been ridiculed, yet our flag continues
To flow unimpeded. We will never die on our knees.
If we must die, we will die standing like brave soldiers.
We will not bow our head. We will stare at the racist liars,
Because our Heroes died for our freedom, honor and dignity.
Haiti is the most exploited country in the world. Haiti, Haiti
Will survive, and all the perpetrators will rot one day in Hell.
Haiti is the most betrayed country in the world. Haiti, Haiti
Is a beautiful country, in spite of the centuries of disrespect
Of over-exploiting, looting, stealing, and obvious neglect.
Haiti is patient. One day, all the fake and snake goons will rot in Hell.
When I see the images of Haiti, I shake and shake my head and I pray.
When I see the forced smiles of Haiti; speechless, I don't know what to say.
I become sad, angry and numb, because many of us LOVE Haiti,
Our Homeland, which Haiti has been governed by a lot of haters,
By a clan of shrewd kleptomaniacs, who know how to fool the voters,
Which are naïve, uninformed and illiterate. Haiti will survive their hypocrisy,
At the end of the day. When I see the bicolor, tears come to my eyes,
'Cause we have suffered enough and too much. Yes, my brave heart cries.

P.S. May 18 is Haitian Flag's Day (May 18,1803 - May 18,2018) . Happy Haitian Flag's Day!

Injusticia, guerras, hipocresía, racismo, intolerancia y pobreza
Habemus novum spem
Habemus novum papam

Nou vini, nou ale epi nou ale tankou yon ti bo
Detanzantan, nou bezwen san nouvo
Epi natirèlman, li natirèl; Se pa yon krim
Novum papam habemus
Novum spem habemus
Nou gen yon nouvo espwa
Nou gen yon nouvo Rwa
Yon nouvo lidè pou Legliz Katolik
Ankèt la fini, eleksyon an fini, tout kontwovès fini
Kote yon dividal zanj ap chante anba tant diven yo
A mwen pa konn si ke yap bwè di ven
Mond lan jodi a plonje nan yon sitiyasyon dezastre e malveyan:
Manti, krim, koripsyon, ekspilsyon, diskriminasyon ak enpinite
Dayè, sa se yon eufemism, se diminye bagay yo
Sepandan, lemond antye anvi:
Lapè, lapè e lapè
Nou vle ke tout move rèv kaba, fini:
Enjistis, lagè, ipokrizi, rasis, entolerans ak povrete
Novum spem hablemus
Novum papam hablemus
Nou gen yon nouvo espwa
Nou gen yon nouvo Papa
Se pou Bondye beni nouvo Pontif sila, lanati ak limanite!

Mistletoe And Xmas
Hebert Logerie Dec 2024
Mistletoe and Christmas go hand in hand
The mistletoe and its beautiful cherries
Christmas carols and bells, bright stars and pine trees
With light snowfall can create a winter wonderland.

What a spectacle of lights and divine beauty
The whole world celebrates awesomely
The birthday of Jesus Christ born in Africa
What a shock for the entire Diaspora!

Baby Jesus was different, that's why
From the crèche they wanted to sacrifice and crucify
Him, their goal was to **** Him like a goat
Which they did, but He returned. It's time to gloat.

The Messiah can be a subject of controversies
Deceptions, propaganda, polemics and inconsistencies
Oh! This is Noel, let's rejoice and enjoy the feasts
At least and at last in this joyous season, let's live in peace.

Freedom is somewhat limited
In a so-called democratic society
At times, people cannot truly tell it like it is
People cannot vote freely
Without some restrictions or some stupidities
In order to weaken the disadvantaged
Even though the US first amendment guarantees
Freedom of speech, freedom of expression
To assemble peacefully, freedom of religion
Freedom is not what it is
It is not how it is articulated in the glossary
Freedom is relative, please
Do not say fire vociferously
Or yell gun in the theater
At church or in the street corner
You will be prosecuted
Freedom is not what it should be
It is not what the US Constitution intended
It to be
Freedom is somewhat controlled and limited.

Welcome Home
Welcome to Earth
Where nobody is perfect
And nothing is always correct.

Welcome Home
Welcome to Earth
Where people laugh and talk
Where people cry and walk
Where people hate and love
Where eagles and doves soar above
Where people swim and surf
And chat about Google Chrome.

Welcome Home
Welcome to Earth
Where spring is the best season
Welcome to Earth, grandson
Where people talk and walk
Where soon you will use a fork
And a knife to eat like everybody else
In order to feed a bigger body in the house.

Welcome Home
Welcome to Earth
To be with a big and talented family
In order to sing and play music, to see beauty
And misery, to help and to write about everything
Under the sun, the moon and a beautiful spring.

The world is not perfect
And nobody is always correct
Welcome Home, my boy
Believe me
Life is not a perfect toy
Please trust me.

Welcome Home
Welcome to Earth
Where people dream and hope
Disappoint and rise up to fight
Wash off dirt with water and soap
And get fraught in the middle of the night.

Welcome Home
Welcome to Earth
Be safe and be ready to surf
And to learn more about Google Chrome
Welcome Home
Welcome to Earth.

The Weeping Moon
Witnessing the blood baths, the bombings, the massacre
Of God’s people, children’s bodies everywhere,
And octogenarians expire slowly and quietly in horror.
The undistorted and the vivid images of terror,
The ugly realities of life for millions; what a rancor!
The large plumes of gray phosphorus smoke! There is nowhere
To hide. Showers of shrapnel, unprecedented heavy shelling,
White clouds of death and discriminating lynching
Of everything that breathes, walks, runs and flies;
This is war, this is sheer terrorism! The God-flies;
Where are they when they are needed?
Our world should not be so muted,
So insensitive toward so many.
This is a shameful disaster, a pity…
To do nothing and hope for the awakening of the gods;
The worms, the flies, the rats and the tods
Must be happy. What an inhumane feast!
In this young century, we cannot find Peace.
The photos are real, and dying is not a joke.
The lenses of the camera recorded the blood soaked
Pregnant women, their babies shredded
By the wrecked fires of the big guns.
No one is spared: fathers, mothers, sons,
And even young girls are arrested,
Humiliated, stepped on and eventually annihilated.
This is the state of our human family.
Centuries old victims are now the perpetrated
Beasts that devour nymphs, angels and dignity.
The moon can only helplessly weep,
The gods and the geese are high by the burning bodies.
Terrorism is your vocation; falling asleep,
Amid this, is criminal, we should unequivocally denounce the bullies.
Big gun shipped helicopters can only destroy; they don’t make Peace,
H bombs only create more activists, more militants and more beasts.

Genocide in Real Time
We cowardly witnessed the genocide of many human beings
Live, live, live in real time
That was an odious, callous and vicious crime
We said nothing, absolutely nothing about the sad and awful events
Many of us were either silent or complacent about everything
Even God was absent and quiet. He did nothing, nothing
Evil doers are not humane; they are ******* criminals
We witnessed the bombings of babies, buildings and animals
We saw the massacres and the aftermaths. We could smell the blood
And could hear the cries coming out of the television screens
We saw the live and dead bodies, the hearts, the livers and the spleens
Rotting and spoiling in the filthy streets. The color of the mud
Is grim and abnormal, because of too much sufferings and tears
Too much pain and misery, too much disgust and shame
Too much atrocities and killings. We all know whom to blame
We know who are responsible for so much evilness and wrongdoings
Humanity got thrown out of the window in this part of the universe
We wonder if these two legged machines have a heart and a soul
We wonder if they ever look in a mirror, in a clear pool
We wonder how it would be if everything were to happen in reverse
Where is God? Why this ignominious silence?
Live, live, live in real time
That’s an odious, egregious and beastly crime
How can anybody sleep at night? That makes no sense
These days, everything is live, eerie, vivid and instantaneous
Grotesque things are never acceptable, admissible and hilarious
We want peace and we dream of peace
But the guilty ones must pay from west to east
And from north to south. We want peace and justice.

P.S. This poem is dedicated to Love, Peace, Equality and Justice.

All of a sudden
The stars have stopped shining
Blimming sadness in Heaven
Too many babies are maimed and hurt
Too many infants are starving and suffering
Too many women are crying and mourning
And too many men are being sought
For summary executions
Where countless elders of the sad nations
Have disappeared without a trace
The pain is excruciating. What a disgrace!

All of a sudden
The sky has become extremely dark
Flaming chaos in Heaven
The cemetery is in the park
The buildings are bombed and bulldozed
For heaven’s sake, too many soldiers are overdosed
Where ships, vessels, yachts, boats and canoes are sunk
Somewhere is buried a dead skunk
Where everything is comatose and decomposed
No one can honestly envision a bright future
Where nobody can dry the tears of Mother Nature.

The stars have stopped shining
The moon is visibly absent
The sun is on strike and fasting
And the weather is eerily aberrant.

Believe it or not
The Parson is right
We shall return with zeroes
Many zeroes.  Let’s be Heroes
For and to the world. Let’s not be selfish
Because we shall return with zilch
With nada, mit nichts, perhaps with empty zeroes
Which mean nothing. Let’s pause
To think. Let’s be wise and humble
Love is essential. When the trees tremble
And fall; when the ground shakes and burns
When the soil slithers and slides, the world yearns
For peace, sympathy, compassion, and love. With nothing
We shall return, just like we came on earth with nothing
The sky will always stare at us, as we raise our head
Heaven will remain at the same distance
And we shall leave alone, with nothing, with no bed
No castle, no money, no power and no incense
Believe it or not
We will be blessed to be in a wee lot
After the soul departs
And the ash rots
Believe it or not
The Poet is right.

P.S. This poem is dedicated to the kings of the world.

I’m talking about the beautiful country of Burkina Faso
Formally known as the Republic of Upper Volta, the newcomer on the plateau
The new country with a charismatic and highly competent young leader
Capt. Ibrahim Traoré, everybody is talking about this intelligent brother
Who is well articulated in French, English and other languages
Brother Traoré embodies what all young men and women aspire to be:
Heroes of his or her Homeland, to help and rid themselves of the vestiges
Of inferiority, servitude and slavery. Yet, I’m still learning about this great country
I love Capt. Traoré’s eloquent speeches and gestures. I’m awesomely inspired
By his words and deeds. This brave brother means business. He’s not tired
To tell the truth, as we know, most leaders lie like frogs trying to speak
He tells it like it is and he indeed does good for Burkina Faso. He’s at his peak
This courageous military man can only go higher, to be exemplary
In Africa. He’s the model leader that Africa (the world) needs. He’s too busy
To travel to countries that have mastered the art of insulting and belittling
Young and modern leaders. The world needs new leaders who’re capable of singing
The righteous songs of freedom, liberty, justice, fairness and equality for all citizens
Brothers and sisters, I’m still learning about B. Faso, Mali, Niger and other regions
Or countries that are fighting for the pride and the future of their inhabitants
My best wishes go to countries that are helping us accomplish our missions
We are living in a world of abundance. No countries should be treated as inferior
Or poor. "Haiti is not a ******* country". Yet, they failed to mention the exploitations
The rapes, the lies, the abuses and the lootings of our resources and the decapitations
They surely know how to manipulate, to neutralize, to explore and to divide to conquer
Oops, I had to exteriorate a bit. I want to wish our many countries a fruitful future
They’ll succeed because these new, incorruptible leaders care about us and they’re better.

P.S. This poem is dedicated to the late Pres.Thomas Sankara, our Haitian, African,
Black American Heroes, Poets and all our Brothers and Sisters.

Anmweyyy, anmweyyy
Everybody is destroying Haiti
Please stop, stop, quit. At last, give the country
A break, a rich season. There are too many bandits, vandals
Too many lootings, thefts, too many crises and scandals
On this impoverished and exploited island
Give Hayti a chance to live better. Give our land
A break with too much violence and injustice
Ayiti needs peace, love and real justice
Why all of you are hurting Haiti so bad?
This is sickening
Haytians, please stop being so sad and mad
Haiti needs everybody's love and compassion
This is damning
Please help Haiti in this time of destruction
Or leave Hayti alone, to breathe
Hate only knows how to burn, **** and destroy
The truck is about to kiss the rugged cliff
Stop the rancor, put out the fire and bring joy
Haitians, Haytians, wake-up to a new beginning and era
Get rid of the bad seeds and unite with the Diaspora
Unite to fight against corruption and waste of the aids
Be positive! Be ready to get rid of all sorts of plagues
Please stop the violence and use sheer common sense
Hayti needs a new and better season
Haitians, help our nation be an oasis, a starry beacon
Let's understand each other
Unite to be better! Unite to help each other and to dance
Let's love each other to be better
Unite in this time of crisis; and reject death and violence
Anmweyyy, anmweyyy.

They reside on the other side.
They bathe in fertility.
They own yard-keepers and servants;
Dogs, cats and charming plants.

They breathe the camphorated air like us,
Swallow the transparent dust,
Cross over and fall in the muddy rivers
Like our siblings living under the tiny tents.

They reside on the other side of town,
Over the mountains.
They bathe in tranquil fertility
Of the country-side.

They ignore that we are the same
And that we experience daily the same dilemmas.
One day, them and us, all of us will answer
Present deep in the river, under the karmic bridge.

America is beautiful, great and wonderful
Eadem opera, she is ugly, pitiful and dreadful
In regards to the mistreatments of the Native Americans
The African Americans and other minorities
Yet, America is one of the best countries
In the world to be part of or to become citizens
Slavery remains an everlasting thorn in her history
Discrimination is a skulking cancer that won't go away
Any time soon. In the USA, one can always find a way
To survive, to make it amidst the chaos and the irony
Yes, America remains a land of a plethora of opportunities
We all hope and dream of a better America
We all pray and wish for a better America
Where breathe love, peace and auras of positive energies
We love America when she's right, just and fair
America, America can be like a Giant Bear
Who will equally protect her children
America can be like an uncelestial heaven
Let's celebrate Juneteenth: the emancipation proclamation
And the Fourth of July with love, peace, respect and admiration.

You and I have been friends for many moons
You and I have played together countless afternoons
Not to mention many mornings and many nights.

Since today is your birthday, I want to send you: kaleidoscopic lights
Multiple dancing rainbows of heaven, exotic flowers
And warm hugs and I’ll blow fresh new kisses from afar to your ears.

I called you my special darling for numerous reasons
I hoped our friendship would flourish through all seasons
Even though I am now disappointed, down and sad
And though we’re no longer committed to each other; I’m not mad.

No matter what, today is a special and beautiful day
For you and me. I’m very happy for you
In my heart, you will always have a niche, a stay
You will forever remain deep in my spleen and my soul.

The massacres of our beautiful people must STOP.
It is unconscionable and unfair to destroy so many lives
For selfish, greedy and hatred reasons. God, in his archives,
Have recorded everything, which occurred, from top
To bottom, from sunset to sunrise, from the start
To the end. God knows what’s going on in every one’s heart.
God knows what took place in Cleveland, in Charleston,
In Santo Domingo, in Staten Island, in Sparta, in North Charleston
In Buffalo, in Texas, in New York, in Ferguson.
The Lord is fully aware of what has been going on.
The massacres of our beautiful siblings cannot go on.
The brutal and deadly violence against the innocents must cease.
Too many of our people are weeping, too many are deceased
From unnecessary gun violence. Too many have been unjustly executed.
Too many egregious mistakes have been made. We need to see a STOP
Put into this nightmare, this quagmire. We need an end to this flip-flop.
Human beings are suffering and dying. Let’s not apply a band-aid
On this humongous wound. Let’s do our best to provide appropriate aid
To our serious and minor problems. Real people are being killed,
School children, churchgoers and shoppers are being killed,
We are not fantasizing; we are obviously not at the movies.
Our People are real, with human flesh; they are not dummies,
They are not actors; they are not all guilty by association.
The massacre of our innocent people must stop in this nation,
In this state, in this borough, in this city, in this town, in this school,
In this cathedral, in this church and in this community pool.
The mental and physical slayings of our people must END.
All potential perpetrators must look in the sand
To find themselves, reverse the role, think of being
A potential victim of racism, bigotry, indiscriminate shooting,
Senseless firing, ignorance and all sorts of sins under the sun.
We need to defeat the negative feelings that are eroding the fun
That God had put in our soul, and are destroying our natural gift,
Which is to love our fellow men and women. Let the Spirit lift
Us to a higher ground, to a more sane and comfortable pasture.
Let’s be human again, and be stronger, kinder and more mature.
The slayings of our beautiful must be something in the past,
Some crazy events in history, some horrible times that must not last.
Let’s free ourselves from negative emotions, let’s be free at last.
Let’s not be silent, let’s speak, and let’s tell it like it is at last. Alas!
