Hey there! I'm a new member of this wonderful community, and I'm absolutely loving it so far! Everyone here is so supportive and helpful, and I’m truly in awe of the beautiful poems shared here. Seeing your work has inspired me to write like that too! As a beginner, though, I sometimes feel my poems are a bit too simple. I often find it hard to express ideas in a poetic way, and my writing ends up sounding more like a conversation. I also find it a little difficult to interpret some of the deeper poems shared here, and I struggle to keep up with the level of creativity and expression many of you have. I’d be really grateful if you could share any advice, tips, or tricks to help me grow as a poet. Thank you in advance!

Trapped in war between
letting go and moving on
and not giving up

Don't be a diamond; it reflects, not glows.
Become the sun, outshine the stars.

Hahaha, you'll hear that first!
In random talks we'll be immersed,
like there's no one in the world but us
We're the definition of a mess!

One's a girl who's smart and quiet,
no, that's what you'll think at first sight
Those close friends who know her well,
know she's got a lot to tell!

Other's a girl who's balanced right,
with a good amount of all, she's bright
if there ever is a heart to mend,
she'll be there with one to lend!

The last out there, is a crazy one
her teeth shines as bright as the sun
She's got the guts, but not the glory
Basically, she's the fun in our story!

We don't fight much
but when we do,
we make sure it's settled
by the noon.

And when we laugh,
we howl to the core
We chortle so hard,
our cheeks become sore!

A world without you,
is a world without me!
We didn't meet by chance,
but by destiny!

You can't appreciate good without bad,
You can't appreciate happy without sad,
You can't appreciate peace without war,
You can't appreciate love without hatred,
You can't appreciate right without wrong,
You can't appreciate light without darkness
So I'm sorry if you can't understand me.

Citizens turn terrorists when terrorists terrorise them;
a world without terror is without a world.

I'm waiting for something that's not to come
Like waiting for the end of war
Like waiting for the end of greed
Like waiting for the end of corruption
Like waiting for the end of poverty
Like waiting for the end of pollution
Like waiting for the end of misery
Like waiting for the end of injustice
Like waiting for the end of this eternal cycle

You look, but do you see
between the lines of my poetry?
You hear, but do you heed
the turmoil beneath my silent plead?
You think but do you wonder
if I'm okay after years of blunder?
You sense but do you feel
my true colors shut by a seal?

This is the new me,
a withered peony
With lifeless eyes,
Dampened with lies
This is the new me

The saddest goodbyes
are not the ones that are said
but are left untold

I feel like nothing
Physically, I'm living
But I'm not alive

We went through so much back then,
to be nothing again.
All the way from the beginning,
we were nothing till the end.

"You broke my expectations,
now my thought's all a mess
I saw what you're in reality,
can't believe i was obsessed"

"All those years, what a waste
Guess I just got bad taste"

"Buried alive, can't cry, why, my life is such a lie"

"I thought you'd make me smile forever
But my forever got an end
You used to give me so much hope,
now i'm someone you can't mend."

Sorry for the torturing

Gave it a try, can't meet your eye, wish I could just call you mine

I took my friends for granted,
didn't feel your worth before
But now in isolation,
I want you even more

You gave me more than thrice a chance,
now won't you give a second glance

It got cold, the life we rode, our story untold.

I'm just a person,
with high expectations y'know?
I'm not really happy,
though it appears so

I do a lot for others,
thinking they'd do the same for me
but i guess im just hurtin'
by my own fantasies

Or is it just me
tryna potray a good girl?
Oh my god, what am i thinking...

Am i actually selfish?
Using people for my advantage?
I don't really look like that, right?

Wait... what if im actually selfless,
and an understanding person?

If I have ever hurt you,
I truly am sorry
But has anyone ever apologised
for my never-ending story?

of loneliness and pain?
Maybe I just deserve it
for driving you insane

In this world, where life's a stage,
Behind every smile,
is not a happy role
Smiles radiate warmth,
mine got cold

But I guess i'll take a breather,
its a chapter, not the whole
Just a little longer,
mind, body and soul.

Dear wonderful person, I'll leave you now,
I'll leave it all up to another dove,
who'll pick you up from where you fell,
and pull you out from your walking hell.
If you ever need me, I'll be right here,
faraway, but also near.
Don't worry, you'll soon be found.
Until then, stay safe and sound.

Right from the start, I messed up bad.
"Please be happy, don't be sad".
What pathetic words from me,
as I watched you drown in sea.

Didn't pull you out, didn't lend a hand,
But stood tall and high in the land.
Didn't bat an eye, as I watched you cry
I turned away and let time fly.

Soon after, I was back again
To find lost joy I might've lost there then
I came closer, thinking it would be found
I would be safe, as I'm on the ground.

But then, the waves grew loud and big,
as I stood off-guard like a fragile twig.
I couldn't escape; I couldn't flee.
You became one with sea.

Can you hear it loud and clear?
Come closer, over here
It's screaming from within my deep hearts core
Can you hear my silent roar?

I'm not who you think I am,
What I show you is all a scam.
This is not the actual me,
You only believe what you see.

If I help you,
You must help me back,
And if you don't,
I'll change my track

On to the next person I'll go,
So that, into me, all the benefits flow.
"You're so selfless!", if I hear you tell,
I know I've twisted your brains very well.

"Do good and it'll come back to you."
Is that so? Doesn't seem very true,
Lately, my do-good scheme,
hasn't been working like how I dream.

Thats when it hits me plain and hard,
All of you are playing the exact same card.
We're all just actors in this stage,
Our true hidden selves, behind a cage.

Every one of us is trapped within this feat,
of manipulation, trickery, and deceit.
We're all just pawns of something greater here.
Is this darkness, the so-called fear?
